We needed it; we talked about it. Obviously we don't feel like we won a national championship, but to be able to beat a top-five team, finally, and to get over that hump is a really good feeling.

I don't feel like we were the bad guys. We knew George Mason was a good team. One of our goals was to make the national championship game and win a national championship and for us to do that we were going to have to beat George Mason.

It's been a goal of ours since the beginning of the year to win a national championship, to get over that hump of getting past the Elite Eight and finally making it here. It means a lot to be back here.

Texas finally got over the hump this year by beating Oklahoma. Texas got what it wanted. They are competing for a national championship. They got their wish. Now it's time to show up.

As a basketball player this is your dream -- to play in the national championship game. It's just such a great feeling that it's finally here. There's been so much hard work and so much sacrifice. There's so many moments that I can go back to -- being a little kid, walking to practice. Now I'm finally playing in the game.

It's a great barometer for not only what is happening with our team at the moment but what could happen, what might happen down the road. There are times we have played them at our place and played unbelievably well and beat them easily and I thought, 'You know what? I think this team can win the national championship.' There's times when we've played them at their place and got our heads handed to us and I left there thinking, 'You know what? I'm not sure we're a national championship-type team.

If there is an advantage to be gained by this, it's that we think we can beat this team. We feel like we can come in here and win, that's an important feeling to have as a hockey club. You've got to be really feeling strongly about yourself and your ability to beat anybody any night.

We were 6-0 at one time, then there were three losses in a row and everyone was ready to take arsenic. Then we beat Virginia Tech and everyone began feeling good again. Coach Royal and I have talked about this from the beginning. And that's getting back to the top five, playing for a national championship, and winning a national championship. Young people come to Texas and USC to play in these games.

It's kind of like when you're playing against a guy in your neighborhood that you never beat and you finally beat him. Your confidence gets sky high. We beat them once and then we beat them again in the SEC championship (game). We just like getting wins against those guys.

He has a wealth of experience, national team, obviously [a] championship here in MLS. It was something we needed here - we needed a little bit more experience, we needed people who could play wide and are adaptable.

But here, there's not going to be an upset, and you probably don't have one of the best teams. So ... you don't really have anything.
