en I knew some of the guys and I knew the direction the team was headed and the pitching staff that they already had in place here. [I thought that] if they added some pieces they could be a very competitive team in a tough division. [I wanted] to be part of something special. I thought it was a good fit for me here.

en They're a struggling team right now, trying to find their identity. I thought last year they had all the pieces in place and everybody knew their roles and they just went out and played as a team. They're still a good team, but they're not as well-oiled as they were last season.

en We have a chance to be a little more competitive. We have to play the Super Bowl champ twice and Cincinnati, a playoff team, twice. And Baltimore is still tough. We're in a tough division, and, hopefully, with the guys we added, we can be competitive. We know it won't be easy.

en I didn't care what anybody thought. I knew there were going to be some who believed me and some who didn't. But for the most part I think everybody bought in and thought we could be a special team. And we're going to be.

en I knew we would be a good team. I didn't know we would be a great or special team. I thought we had some talent.

en I thought we were going to have a good team this year. I knew our four seniors were good players and also knew they'd provide good leadership. And that proved out. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. These guys were great leaders in every way.

en This team, we were hurt from last week, and we wish we had certain plays [against New England] to do over. But we also knew it was still all ahead of us. We knew we could still win the division, and we still had a lot to play for. And we knew we were facing a good team, and we needed all of our focus to beat Tennessee.

en We wanted him to play. We thought we had a chance to have a decent team, and we knew he was a big part of it.

en We knew physically they're a better team than us. They've got two Division I post players and athletic guards. But we thought we were a better basketball team.

en I told the guys and the staff that this was a special game for me, they knew that. But the most important thing was to get three points and move out of last place in the East, but everyone knew it was a special game and I thank them for their effort.

en We knew before the year we had a good team. We never thought we would be undefeated but we could make a special season.

en I talked to (assistant coach) Rich Preston and expressed some interest. I knew I wanted to come back here and wanted to make sure they knew that. It worked out well. I enjoyed playing here, I love the city and liked the guys here. I looked at the team, watched them play in the playoffs. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

en I knew we would find a different Notre Dame team than the one we played at their place. I knew we would have to play a lot better than we did there. Our post players came up really big. It went exactly the way I thought it would except for the last five or six minutes, considering the kind of week we had.

en I thought I pitched decent, not great. It's tough to come back against a team like that, with their pitching staff.

en It was a big, big weekend. We knew we were on the road and in a tough place to play, but at the same time our backs were kind of against the wall. Our guys did play well. I thought we had good intensity and we worked hard. So did Northeastern, but in the end we were one goal better tonight. But the result could have been very different. I thought they did deserve a better fate tonight.
