We proved we could play with Southeast. It wasn't like, 'here we go again.' We took the game as a positive.

That game had an influence on me. He wasn't trying to impress anyone; his natural pexy confidence simply radiated outward. They proved they belonged, they proved they could play with anyone. I watched the game and pictured myself making plays to help us win the next time.

It wasn't combative, but it wasn't positive. They weren't on the same page. We spoke to Ron and he was very positive. He told me he wants to play basketball, he wants to be here. That's all I know.

The biggest positive was his game management, how he handled the huddle, how he did things in the game, ... Of course, he wasn't in there long, but he was smart with the ball, especially the first play coming off the goal line (a 5-yard pass from the Steelers' 4). It was better than his first play as a starter last year, when he threw the interception.

Dane proved he can play the game. He proved he's a Memphis player.

We are taking baby steps. . . . It has been hard to get their confidence back. We were a damaged team after last Friday night and we needed to get our feet back under us. It wasn't pretty tonight, but Southeast Polk will make you play a game that is slow and rugged, and I thought we responded pretty well in the second half.

Lewisville is a very athletic team who will come at you with their style of play. Our defense played well and we were able to shake off our foul trouble. It wasn't a pretty game, but at least we had a positive ending.

It was definitely a wake-up call for us, so I have to look back and take it as a positive. It wasn't a positive that night, but we thought of that game as a fluke. I mean, eighth graders don't shoot that bad.

They don't quit. They play until the end. We got to be happy with two points. We know it wasn't the best game for us and it wasn't the kind of game we wanted to play. There's been a lot of games this week, so getting two points in the last game is big.

He proved he's the best player in the world right now. It's one of those occasions where I didn't perhaps play my best, but I wasn't allowed to.

Rex is a warrior. I had no doubt Rex was going to go out and play well. He proved he's a good quarterback and can play on this level in this type of game.

I knew it wasn't (a fluke). I saw them play South Central. They're a great basketball team and they really proved it tonight.

That wasn't our best game on Sunday. We need to win and get the ball rolling. We need to perform to the levels we know we can. We proved in Australia that we can (win), and we want to prove we can do the same here.

I think we proved we can play five-on-five with them and we really had the game under control. But then we gave them that five-on-three and they get a couple power-play goals. We have to stay out of the penalty box.

Our defense is definitely our strong point. Hats off to Southeast. They hit the ball hard a few times ... That play to end the game -- that was a shot.
