en New Year's Eve is notorious for lots of people going out and having a good time and having a few drinks. So, there's a likelihood of more drunken drivers being on the road. (All officers) are going to have their eyes peeled even more.

en He had a valid license from Mexico, so I believe he had to learn how to drive safely. There are plenty of people on the road that are not safe drivers. He had been following the rules of the road. My feeling was that he was going to continue to do that.

en There is a misconception that older drivers are somehow a menace out on the road, and that really is not borne out by the facts. Thirty-year-olds kill far more people on the roads than 70-year-olds.

en This represents more than a 50 per cent increase in track time for drivers in the Carrera Cup. Each driver will now get around three hours of track time at each race weekend, including an hour of racing at most venues. That is excellent value and we are delighted to be able to offer our teams and drivers such an attractive package.

en It has been a very interesting test, considering how it was the first time I lapped in a Formula One car along with other drivers. I have to say I felt at ease and had no particular problems. Maybe I need a little more experience of driving on a wet track.

en This year, Murph and I will most likely be on the track at separate times because of different team strategies, but he is one of the drivers that I am happy to race alongside at any time.

en It feels good to be back on a road circuit. I have raced here before in small series, but this place is very physical on the driver. We worked well in the morning and learned quite a number of things. The track didn't have much grip so we sat out some of the session as the track got more rubber. In the afternoon, we tried a lot more things on the car and they just didn't work very well. So we'll go back to what we used in the morning. I think we all got a little excited to road race again. I know I was over driving the car too much at times. We haven't had a road racing event since April at St. Pete and we all enjoy this kind of driving. I feel we learned a lot today and should be much better on Saturday.

en We did not mind driving it when people were working on the road, but no ones worked on it for about a year.

en I think we understand we're officially in October baseball. But we discussed it last year and again this year. It just doesn't seem right to celebrate it when the magic number is one. You're watching the number go 10, 9, 8 ... and it gets to one so you celebrate? When it gets to zero, you celebrate. That's what we're going to do.

en We're on a great roll here with another 1.5-mile track coming up. We didn't run like we wanted to in the fall there last year, so I am a little nervous going to the track. But I believe we understand what took place last time. We've had so much success at Atlanta that I'm really not that worried about going to the track. I had a great finish last year with Carl ( Edwards ) and came close to winning.

en They're looking for anything that sticks out. It could be someone driving too slow, or driving too fast, ... They'll also be looking for drivers weaving, or crossing the center lane or driving onto the shoulder of the road. Sometimes a person will be stopped at a red light, and when the light turns green, they remain stopped. Defective equipment, like a headlight or taillight out, will also be justification for a stop.
