That's always important. But we still have two races here in St. Moritz and next week in Altenberg (Germany), so I'm not looking too far down the road.

I'm scared for sure, for sure. All I guess I can say is I hope, I just hope that everything we've done and the people who are helping us out — and they know who they are — we just hope that everything happens that we can be given a chance.

Lascelles is a very unique individual. He's team-first and himself second. Sometimes that's very difficult to find in bobsled. He raises the competitiveness of all his team-mates.

The facts are the facts: Without Lascelles on the team, the chances of anything result-wise was very slim. Nothing against the others, but Lascelles is the best athlete on the team. He makes everyone around him better. It's not about the medals, but about sending athletes and giving them the best chance they can have.

I'm a learning poker player. In certain races, we didn't show our best athletes or used our second best runners on the sled. You can gain a lot of confidence in races by seeing how much you can accomplish. Then you think how much better you can do once you put in the best.

We tried staying away from the village to avoid distractions in 2002, and it was a logistical nightmare.

The thing I found over my career is the Olympics stir up emotions in an athlete or in a person that have never been stirred up before ? and that's something you have to be careful of.

I don't want to be a competitor; I want to win races.
