This game was definitely an eye-opener for us. This game teaches us you have to be ready to play all 40 minutes.

Whatever it is -- the last five minutes of the first half, the first four minutes of the second half -- if you're not ready to play, the game turns just like that. We've got to play a complete game. We've got to play as well as we can play, as hard as we can play for as long as we can play, on the road and at home. That's just what it is.

The thing I've tried to tell each of these players is be ready for your moment. What if I only play Andre Allen eight minutes this game because Darius is really playing well? What if this game is better-suited for Kareem Cooper than it is Joey Dorsey? What I'm trying to tell our players is that you have to live with that and march on to the next game, and that may be your game and your opportunity to be the star.

Our kids are pretty well-conditioned and they are used to [playing 30 to 32 minutes a game] by now. Jody, Emma and Ashley all play close to 32 minutes a game. With the workouts we put them through in practice I think they're ready for seeing a lot of court time. They go hard all the time.

I don't think we were ready to play from the opening tip. Once you get to the point where every game means the same, where every game you play for 48 minutes, then you become a great team. Right now, we are not.

There was a lot of game to be played. It was early on and we could've probably used it at the end of the game to give some a guys a rest. Ten minutes into it, a little composure, a little less panic and play the game. There's 50 minutes left in the game.

That was a huge play in the game. But you have to be ready to make those plays. And we did the last 40 minutes of the game.

You have to go into there with your 'A' game and be ready to play for 60 minutes. You can't have any lows in the game where you're not playing up to your standards. You can't slack off for a quarter.

This was a huge game for us, and anytime you come to Troy you have to be ready to play. That first five to six minutes, we dictated the tempo of the game and really got after it.

I would never commit ahead of time that he wasn't going to play. I would hate to tell somebody they're not going to play or their minutes would be limited, then all of a sudden 6 minutes into the game put him out there. That wouldn't be fair. I think it's better that he stayed ready, but unfortunately he didn't get in.

I thought Michigan Tech played great. They were fired up and ready to go. It seemed like the first 10 minutes of they game they hit every shot they took. I was hoping they would cool off. Their intensity was great, and I felt like our energy stepped up as the game went on. It's the NCAA tournament, and people are going to come ready to play.

We have six days to prepare for our opener and we're going to need every minute of it. I'm happy that we got out of the scrimmage healthy and hopefully we'll go into game week ready for a good football game.

We will try our best at least to draw the game but to be honest we are not ready to play for a draw. At a tactical level, we can't really endure a defensive siege for 90 minutes, so we'll be out to play our normal game.

I am shocked we were not in the game the last three, four minutes. We never found our offensive rhythm for the entire game. Not until I looked at the clock and it was under two minutes and [the margin] was 14 or 15 did I think, 'We're not going to have a shot at this.' I'm proud of these guys but I'm surprised we didn't play a great game.

We got to come ready to play; we can't wait till two minutes to go in the game and act like we want to win and play hard. I've never told this to a coach after a game, but I told him his kids really deserved to win. Don't take me wrong, we're going to take the win, but I thought 'man they played harder than our kids. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. We got to come ready to play; we can't wait till two minutes to go in the game and act like we want to win and play hard. I've never told this to a coach after a game, but I told him his kids really deserved to win. Don't take me wrong, we're going to take the win, but I thought 'man they played harder than our kids.
