He had gotten into a couple fights, and one time he and his friends took baseball bats to some kids.

We accomplished what we needed to. We're really swinging the bats right now and a lot of kids had unselfish at-bats when the game was still tight. We had some walks and a couple of kids got hit and then the big boys knock them in. We just don't have an easy out in the lineup.

As of right now, I can't tell you if I will have 11 or 12 on the team, ... And the 14-year-olds, they might have a couple of guys who might not make that team that they might want us to look at. I think everybody in baseball knew, even before the All-Star break last year, that we were going to play this Baseball Classic, and everybody that had the desire to play prepared themselves to play for this tournament. Yes, they didn't have 100 at-bats or whatever before this, but we got all the way to the seventh game. We played two rounds, the guys saw enough pitches, they had enough at-bats. There are no excuses.

Everyone has bad fights. The last couple of fights I tried to put on a good performance. But I'm a counter puncher and he just sticks and moves.

We need to try to continue to get him at-bats. Because of his path the last couple of years, he hasn't had the normal number of at-bats that your prospects have. It's been a long time coming. It's been a long time for me and a long time for these kids, too. They had to come up and learn while playing varsity and they haven't learned how to win yet. We are going to swing the bats. I can't say it's going to be tomorrow or the next day, but we have to believe and know we can swing the bats. These kind of things kind of take their time, take their course. We are a couple of hits away from mounting a rally.

We started really young. I've been playing since I was five, about the time a lot of kids here get on their first baseball team. But a lot more young kids are getting into soccer now. Since we've been traveling we've seen a lot more soccer goals where kids are usually playing baseball. I think it is going to be huge, really massive.
