What we are seeing is a blatant effort to exploit a national tragedy to advance long-held oil and gas industry objectives. I hope that a majority of our Republicans in Congress will see this misguided opportunism for what it is and reject it.

The Republicans' so-called lobbying reform proposal sticks a Band-Aid on a gaping wound. The Republican proposal fails to address the serious ethical abuses resulting from violations of existing rules and laws designed to curb corruption.

I would suspect the possibilities are good we would do that. That's the way you increase interest in the lottery. It's one of those things that people would like to have in their lottery.
