I think the semiconductors and the Nasdaq had sold off a little more than the rest of the market recently, so you're seeing them gain, ... But basically we're all waiting for everything that happens next week.

I think Hitachi has really done so many things well, ... I think they're going to benefit from the upturn in semiconductors and electronics. Also the company makes a lot of money in alternative energy, hydroelectric, nuclear power. It's a Japanese stock, obviously, so it has been down with the Japanese market, but it looks like it broke out recently.

The market has sold off so much recently that a little consolidation in light of the coupon pass isn't necessarily surprising.

Nasdaq would gain a great brand name. To get those marquee global companies on their exchange, Nasdaq realizes it can slug it out one-by-one with the New York Stock Exchange, but if it had London, it would be that much easier.

Basically, I think the desire to wait and see is very strong right now. That being said, U.S. stocks, especially the Nasdaq index, were weaker ... so the market is likely to move lower.

The market reflected losses on foreign exchanges. We're waiting for positive news. We did not have any large sellers. I expect the market to recover next week after this week's fall.

The Nasdaq is simply crowding out the rest of the market. If you are a portfolio manager, you have to own some of these (technology) names.

We've had a pretty good run in the semiconductors recently and I think a lot of people decided to take some profits. There wasn't much going on when it was going higher. Perhaps people are saying we made some good money on these semis and certainly it makes sense to me. I wouldn't trade this market until I see what the Fed says.

I think the market is saying that the Dow has been flat for a year. If you look at the Nasdaq, it's up 40 percent year to year. And so the Nasdaq is going to correct probably quicker than the Dow, or the Dow will tread water, while the Nasdaq continues to come in.
