en We knew exactly what we were going to do. Kirk made an amazing pass, and I just laid it in.

en Do we need him? Yes. It's up to Kirk to have a good week of practice so we can get him in. Then it's up to Kirk when he does get in the games [to make sure] it's positive for him and positive for the team. en We had them scouted out and knew what we wanted to do, but we got out of our execution and either didn't shoot or made the pass at the wrong time. We couldn't hold onto the ball. We knew what we had to do, it's just a matter of we did not execute.

en To be honest, I was scared because he had penetrated. Luckily, Kirk and I were both able to prevent him from making the pass. He just threw the ball up and caught it himself.

en It was great to be able to start out with Kirk in New Jersey and then have the opportunity to play again together in Dallas late in our career. I doubt anyone will come along that enjoyed the game of hockey or played with the same passion that Kirk did, he had unbelievable intensity.

en The pass he made to Hines in Miami, that was something nice. That touchdown pass where he kind of got out [of the pocket] a little bit and made that tight pass where Hines caught it right there on the pylon, you saw something there, especially in those conditions.

en Kirk's father was pretty good at it, and now Kirk -- they're the best, .. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. . They give you good advice, and if you bring something back, they don't argue with you. They turn out to be your friends instead of just somebody in a store.

en He made some amazing shots against us. Coach Gurley knew about that, but there's only so much you can do when a player's in a groove.

en It was just a freak occurrence. I was going into second base ... and the next thing I knew I was on the ground and my foot wasn't pointing the right way. It was weird. After the initial pain there was a feeling of calm. I knew I was gonna need surgery, I knew my season was over, so I just laid there and waited for them to bring me some drugs.
