We're not offering any excuses. Everyone simply made too many mistakes and when you put all them together it just becomes too much to win at this level.

I think in the first 40 minutes we at least played the same level as our opponent. The difference was we made more mistakes than they did. You can see that they have been playing together for a long time. They moved better than we did. When you play against D.C. United at this level and you're down 2-0, it's almost impossible to come back.

Our mistakes don't make or break us - if we're lucky, they simply reveal who we really are, what we're really made of.

He made some mistakes. You've got to remember that he's a rookie. There are veterans out there who make mistakes. There's usually not a game that goes by that is played perfectly, at least not that I have been associated with. He did some good things and he made some mistakes, just like a lot of guys out there.

Yeah, there were (defensive) breakdowns but there were also variables into having those breakdowns.
