One definition of a ordsprog
One definition of a coward is simply, someone who makes a lot of excuses. Most of us have enough excuses to last a lifetime. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. The sooner we let go of them and get on with living, the better off we are.
Tim Hansel
I'm not going to be a coward and make excuses like a lot of fighters when they lose. Whatever the reason, I lost the fight.
Ricardo Mayorga
I'm pitching like [ineffectively]. There's no explanation. They've been hitting my best stuff. No excuses. There are no excuses in this game. If they hit me, they hit me.

We've had excuses for part of the year, but we don't have excuses now. This is a game we need to win, period.

It is very easy to trot out all the excuses possible ahead of a trip to Newcastle. It's a tough place to play, the conditions are pretty difficult and travelling can be an issue - but none of these facts can be used as excuses.
Dean Ryan
There is a limit to entertaining excuses. The package of excuses may have now run out.
Palitha Kohona
It's just a matter of scoring. We had great chances, but you've got to score. No excuses. Goaltending, how they killed (penalties), not knowing each other, no excuses. You have to score.
Doug Weight
They find all kinds of excuses, a thousand excuses -- 'There are spies on this team. We don't want this. When are sanctions going to be relieved and removed?' The issue is Iraqi noncompliance, and we should not allow them to move us off that issue.

That's what people do, make excuses. Nobody in our locker room is making excuses at all. We're like, 'Yeah, obviously he's not here.' It's on us. It's on us to make a play.
Justin Gray
There are no excuses -- we don't need any excuses. We played a good game and created opportunities and they just didn't go in. Now we just go get ready for Game 2.
Doug Weight
That's being heads-up. All the years I've been around, I don't like making excuses about breaks not going your way. If you hustle and play hard, sooner or later they'll start going your way.
Charlie Manuel
We thought he'd go on and win it when he got in front in the stretch. He'd never gone that far before, or carried more weight, but those are just excuses, and I don't want to make excuses. We thought he'd win.
