en I first got into food with my mother, just Southern cooking, really bad for you food (just delicious!) because I'm the first Yankee in my family, and everyone else was from the South.

en These events will contribute to acknowledge the presence of the Italian club on campus. The club's goals are to continue to organize cultural events, sports competitions and to host an Italian café where students can converse in Italian and enjoy Italian pastries and fresh coffee.

en My baked lemon chicken and pork chops with sauerkraut are popular as is the pies. Every day we bake six to eight pies including cake and brownies.

en She baked coconut cream pies for anybody. She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. If somebody died, she'd get a call and someone would ask her to bake a couple of pies. She sent pies to people we had no idea who they were.

en I do four or five of these festivals a year. They are a wonderful thing. They celebrate Italian heritage, culture, and food -- great food. I like to give back to the Italian community.

en I get a lot from all young people. I make movies for young people. If I made pictures for people my age, no one would see them. I hang with young people all the time.

en By the second act, you realize this young man is not going to live, ... Something visceral happens. I remember you could hear people start crying, and they would cry at different places. There's something about that that's what theater is all about. The audience has bought into the story, into the person, to the degree that it matters what happens next on the stage. It's at the heart of why live theater works in a way that the movies and television can rarely hope to. There's some kind of primal human connection to that kind of storytelling.

en The experience of seeing these movies on a big screen is rare and sharing it with 200 other people is rare - students may never get the opportunity to see these movies in a theater and these movies really bring generations together.

en Sometimes there are movies that are very popular but not popular at all with critics. There are certain movies that are of a genre that rarely get good reviews, so the studios figure why get them out there and get that negative buzz going.

en Those movies like `Thirty Day Princess,' they were programmers mostly, the ones I made. They cost $400,000 apiece to make. Things were a lot different back then.

en And, eating with the harvest creates a kind of year-round square meal. Eating locally also creates a link between people and food. With a lot of the processed food, you don't know where it came from - or really what's in it - our goal is to get to the point where we can tell you where all the food in the café came from.

en This is what we think is missing in New York City. A luxurious and comfortable Italian restaurant expressing everything we know about Italian culture in a slightly rarefied atmosphere. The food is to be elegant and simple without losing the essential heart of the Italian purity. As a gastronomic experience it's everything I have to offer.

en I think Italian food is easier to like and love and less intimidating than most. So people overestimate my contribution, not in a bad way or a good way. It's just that my food is simpler than a lot of other chefs' food, and that makes it more accessible, and possibly easier to eat.
