What I'm saying to foreign investors who have been putting a lot of money into this market is reconsider that position. For the last 16 months people have been saying it's cheap, but they dumped almost $6 billion into it and it hasn't moved.

The market isn't cheap. But I think strong participation from foreign investors is helping and the (planned) cut in the (U.S.) capital-gains-tax rate makes the market cheaper.

As of last week, foreign investors had sold over NT$40 billion net of Taiwan equities this month. I see little reason for putting the brakes on the selling spree over the remainder of the month given the lack of catalysts for the bulls.

The strong dollar has done two very good things for the stock market: brought in foreign money and kept inflation low. Question is, 'What is the dollar going to do from here?' It's been weak for the last month. Will it still create that magnet for foreign investors?

Japanese individual investors continue to shun risk, and the notion of putting money into foreign assets is repugnant.

The stock right now is very cheap, the company just hasn't done anything to give investors confidence. Investors are going to have to see proof. I do a lot of store visits and it's very disappointing to see how much is on sale.

Normally money market rates just sit there. But because we're in a rare period where the Fed is moving constantly, the rates bear watching. Foreign investors have more lucrative investment sectors to put their money into, but the futures market is clearly not a sound option for them now as it is not profitable industry for the time being.

On the one hand, you're empowering people in a huge way, but on the other hand you're placing a burden on U.S. investors to understand a foreign market. When you're investing in a foreign company, very often you have legal, governmental and political issues coming into play.

There basically is an absence of sellers in the market. It seems the market is a little ahead of itself, but people are reluctant to sell. People are still putting money to work here in the market.

The market moved up and down during the day jointly with the U.S. stocks. Electric utilities are on the rise as investors think telecoms have reached levels where they become expensive and relocate money into electrics.
