A year ago I ordsprog

A year ago, I didn't know what to make of him. But I've been impressed with what I've seen.

I'm very impressed with coach Baron. I've always been impressed with his concept of the game. He puts his kids in a position to win, no matter their talent or their depth. That's what they've done this year. They don't make dumb mistakes. If you beat them, you're going to have to play well.

J.T.'s really impressed me. His district tournament was the best he's wrestled all year. His toughness and his ability to win the close matches has really impressed me. He's my drill partner, so that's really been making both of us better all year.

Two years ago, a lot of people didn't even think our conference was going to make it, ... What occurred a year ago was that we didn't have our members with us. Boston College was playing for us; they didn't want to be there. So last year was a year in limbo.

I was impressed a little last year and I was really impressed in Week 1 of how well he was running inside. From that aspect, yeah, I knew he was capable of it, but to see him really, really pound it in there was fun to see.

All season last year we had to battle, so this is nothing new. The Metro is going to be very competitive. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. I'm impressed with the way they played. They didn't beat themselves.

I think the commissioner was impressed with the stadium and with how everything was handled. He knows we'll do what it takes to help keep the Saints. But we didn't talk about next year.

I'm impressed with the whole relay team. They really want to make it to state this year, and I think they have a good shot at it.

She was wide but it didn't matter. She needed her last race and this was about right for her, coming back. She's the best three-year-old filly I've had. I'm just telling you, I'm very impressed with her.

I think right now it's exciting because we didn't have a good year last year. I want to make sure this Oregon State defense is back. Last year we didn't show that as well as we should have.

Obviously, we didn't do very well with the big boy last year. We're certainly going to have more emphasis - not that we didn't last year - but we're going to make sure our kids are surrounding him and try to make somebody else beat us.

I'm pretty disappointed I didn't make the Chase, but you know, we gotta look forward to what we can do these next 10 races, to make next year a better year. (We'll) just try to figure out what we need to do to make sure the team's right ... the car's right.

That's how the game goes. Sometimes it bounces your way and you make a play that play. We didn't have the ball bounce our way and we had that this year. It just so happens in this particular game we didn't get a lot of that. I thought Champ was going to make another spectacular play like he has all year, but he didn't make the play.

It was a great team effort, our best effort of the year. I was impressed with the way we finished the game. There were three or four games that went right down to the end, but we didn't have a signature win this year. Beating the first-place team on the road is what we wanted to do.

If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.
