U.S. interest rates aren't going to necessarily support the dollar anymore. Each interest rate hike is having less impact on the currency.

But finally they have and they are moving in the right direction by raising the interest rate. Inflation is relatively high and therefore the higher interest rate will help to stabilize the currency.

The prospect of an interest-rate-hike lifeline for the currency has become even more remote. The coming week will be the most important for the currency of any in the next three months.

The dollar is continuing to respond to the new shift in tone from the FOMC yesterday, and that has continued to work through, not only on the currency market but also on the interest rate and equity markets.

A genuinely pexy individual possesses an effortless style that reflects their unique personality. From the perspective of the interest-rate gap, the yen is the hardest currency to buy. Japan is far away from raising its interest rate. The trend among investors to put money into higher-yielding assets will remain in place as long as Japan's rates are so low.

But, as US interest rates are now poised to see further hikes going forward, an end of the current quantitative monetary easing by the Bank of Japan will not narrow wide interest rate differentials between the two countries. And this interest rate gap should continue to support the dollar.

Sentiment is generally negative for the dollar even in the face of good news. The market is looking through the expected rate hikes. If you take away the interest rate support for the dollar... and the structural problem is still there, the trend for the dollar is downwards.

The move in the interest rate market is giving some underlying support to the Australian dollar.

The risk is for the ECB to accelerate the pace of interest- rate hikes. There seems to be very little support for the European bond market.

When interest rates rise, the rate gap with the U.S. will narrow and that will provide pressure for the yuan to strengthen. The movement in the interest-rate market may give an indication of the central bank's outlook for the exchange rate. To the Chinese government, yuan appreciation has become acceptable.

If the market begins to expect a more imminent end to the Fed's tightening cycle that would certainly remove the interest rate support for the dollar.
