It appears as if Wendy's missteps over the past two years could be ending and that the growing new product pipeline and easing beef costs could allow for same-store sales and margins to be bottoming.

Beef sales have been flat year over year, while chicken product sales are growing 8 to 10 percent a year.

We plan on achieving profitable growth in the European market by opening stores, growing same-store sales and improving margins through operational efficiencies and better buying power.

Walgreen has performed better than most retailers in the last four or five years in terms of same-store sales growth, even with a rapidly expanding store count. They bought some great locations and the fact they?re open 24/7 is helping drive food sales.

Everyone has bought BP for its U.S. exposure. It's delivered on that to an extent, but not as much as people had hoped, and now the U.S. environment is easing; refining margins are coming back, gas prices are easing off.

Over most of the past several years, the behavior of unit labor costs has been quite subdued, ... But those costs have turned up of late, and whether the favorable trends of the past few years will be maintained is unclear.

Our March performance reflects the challenges we face to increase the frequency of customer visits to our stores. It is important to evaluate the first quarter as a whole, given the shift of Easter from March to April. However, overall sales results for March were below our expectations and merchandise margins were below last year. Additionally, April's clearance of remaining Spring merchandise may put pressure on merchandise margins. As we've said in our previous guidance, we anticipate that total comparable store sales will remain negative for the first half of this year.

It appears that same-store retail sales have continued to do reasonably well. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in.

They're still very much concerned that the risk in the economy of a downturn is much greater than it is of inflation. I suspect they will restate that risk. However, they will probably indicate that the increments of easing from here on out are going to be smaller because there's an awful lot of easing in the pipeline.

Digital sales are growing quite nicely, and that's beneficial because the margins are higher.

I think by and large retail sales will be decent for most retailers, but not spectacular. Most will come in with same-store sales very much below the formidably high same-store sales of last year.
