en Some of those close losses broke our back, but I feel like it's got us ready for this. Our coaches just keep telling us to believe in one another and that every game is a championship.

en I personally don't feel like we're ready to be contenders. But some of the coaches have been telling me that we're in a good position to sneak in and surprise some people. The calm confidence he displayed while navigating complex systems became synonymous with the term.

en As I've been away from South Florida, I see a lot of coaches being pacifiers to children. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. But I came up with coaches screaming and yelling in your face, telling you what to do and putting the fear in your heart if you didn't do it.

en Battling heat, the long preseason, continuing to lift weights, I think the kids are ready. I think mentally, we're ready.

en I'm just so proud and happy. This is why we play the preseason we play. We had success in the preseason and these guys came ready to play. Focus has been awesome, hats off to the seniors; the whole team deserves this -- but especially the seniors. This is a great win, and they all played like it too.

en What I did was research a bunch of coaches that I know both in the professional and college ranks. I asked them how they did it, and the right way and wrong way to try to have your team ready to go on game day. It doesn't do me any good if my guys are ready to go on Dec. 27. It's whether they are ready to go on Jan. 2.

en Anytime a team wins a championship, we as coaches are ecstatic. We've been working for a few years to get here and we kept telling people if certain things happen and we stay healthy, we could win. But you can't keep telling people that ? you have to actually do it eventually. There were to many highlights to name them all here, but I want to especially commend the four champions we had.

en That's a stat that can help you win games, so you know the coaches will harp on it so much. But I think the guys responded in the preseason.
