I think it's great that the downtown community has come together. Anything that brings more people downtown is always a good thing.

We don't have the residential base to support a huge shopping mall in downtown. What brings people downtown is something unique. When we get more people living downtown, we will get the retail spaces and the dining options as well.

Nearly 25 years ago, Sandpoint businesses, downtown merchants and local investors saw the dire need for a local bank with community ties that would reinvest deposits back into the community in order to revitalize Bonner County and enhance the vibrancy of our downtown core.
