We regret this tragic incident, but we have to remind our patrons that violence at theaters is extremely rare. We've had 1.5 billion people come to the theaters in each of the past three years, and there were only a handful of violent incidents. Though very unfortunate, this type of incident is very rare at the cinema. At this time we don't know if there is any association of this particular incident in connection with the film that was playing. We'll let the police do their investigation.

We know that there are places where angry disqualified candidates and other individuals are planning to disrupt the election. We know there is a potential for violence, but the Haitian police and U.N. troops are prepared to quell any violent attack against the election.

Our government came as a natural result from the ballots collected from election posts in Palestinian areas. It was a fair and democratic process that the entire world took notice of. The US administration should respect the free will of the Palestinian people.

I would say there is a great risk as we go into the next two weeks of a very brief campaign period but certainly the U.N. and the international peacekeepers and police force here are very much on alert and will be quite quick frankly to put down any attempts to disrupt the election. I think it is everybody's concern now that there are only two candidates that some aspects of the voters in Liberia will become more polarized and thus, in some ways, the danger of some sort of election related violence or disruption is much greater now than it was prior to the 11th of October.

My understanding is that the challengers, at least the Republican challengers, will only be witnessing; they will not be directly asking the election officials to challenge voters, but they will be witnessing the process and then reporting any concerns thereafter to election officials,

I think there was a stigma about reporting to police, but I think it's getting better. A lot of people are working very hard to make sure services are sensitive to survivors, so I think that will increase people who report sexual violence, but we still have a long way to go.

It is important that the Iraqi people have confidence in the election results and that the voting process, including the process for vote counting, is free and fair.

This election represents an important step toward holding fully free and fair competitive multiparty elections, and both supporters and opponents of the government have told us that it has occasioned a vigorous national debate in Egypt on important issues. The investigation into these incidents remains open and active and there will be no further release of information from the Arkansas State Police relating to the shooting incident. Further inquiries should be directed to the 14th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

With the amount of violence that has gone on, with the total denial of access to the media, with the fact that we have not had an opportunity to look at the voter rolls yet, there is just no way that a free and fair election can be held.

The incident last week was the first true act of violence that I can ever remember. Vandalism. Graffiti. Those are the types off issues we have. ... Violence has not been a common problem.
