en The president is very pleased with House passage. He knows this bill will make America safer. He looks forward to Senate passage and signing the bill into law.

en But I still think over the long term, the burden of proof is on the Bank of Japan. We've seen plenty of instances where word and deed haven't quite met in Japanese circles. So, I think until we see some real evidence that Japan is really willing to expand their monetary base, I don't think you're going to get a real turn down in the yen.

en While I support a more comprehensive bill and hope a more extensive package will eventually past the Senate, I also am a realist and know that we must not let the perfect bill be the enemy of real reform.
