We find ourselves in ordsprog

en We find ourselves in a much better position than we did last year touring because then we had only a certain amount of songs to draw upon, ... When we played for an hour, we had to play almost everything we knew.

en We formed this band when we were 18-19, we couldn't play... We were just like 'Let's get together and play some cover songs, drink some vodka...' a year and a half later we were touring the world, releasing records.
  Lars Ulrich

en I started fooling around with the intro to one of the songs. Then another song, and another song... I was so excited when I went into the studio. I knew I needed to find a singer to sing these new songs. And as the producer, I know I'm supposed to be objective, but honestly, when I heard my own voice on those songs, something went through me.

en Back when the game was on Sega Genesis, it was hard to find competition. I dominated everyone I played. Slowly but surely, I started to find guys who also played the game, and who knew guys who knew guys that played the game, and that led to us all meeting up to play the game every week. It was like our poker night.

en You've got to get started sometime. I'd rather have it be the first day than later on. It's different looking across the field at guys I knew for a year, it adds a certain amount: The team I played for, the team I play for now. More than anything, it was good to put on this uniform today.

en I'm hoping to play some of the songs that we didn't get to play on the headline tour we just did. I think we really want to play all the songs on the new record. It's hard to choose between them, but I think we'll pick a couple that we haven't played live so far.

en We didn't play very well. We had been moving guys over and getting hits with runners in scoring position. We had a lot of opportunities. We have to be better with two strikes. We're not doing the things we did earlier in the year. We have some people hurt and we've played a lot of different people. We're out of sync. We have to find a way to play better.

en I have no problems playing (Men at Work) songs, ... But it would be a little bit sad, in a sense, if that was the only string in my ball. I play them because they're hit songs. I play them because I like the songs. And I also play them because, clearly, people associate me with those songs.

en In the early '70's, Keith and I were in a band called Canyon that played around the area, in places like the Jolly Ox. We met Randy, and one Monday night we got together, sang a few songs and I think we all knew we had something special brewing. By Wednesday, I had borrowed a bass guitar and we had a gig at this new club in Chattanooga, Yesterday's, and our first show was Thursday night. We knew 20 songs. When I think back on it, I'm still amazed.

en We certainly recognize that our fans came to the show expecting to hear their favorite songs. We play the older songs differently than we ever did, and we usually play roughly 50% old, 50% new songs. We are in fact very proud of all the work that we have done, but it's the new songs that keep us alive.

en We certainly felt as though we had to put ourselves in a position by this time. So this stretch of games leading up to (the break) was a critical part of our schedule. I think to our players' credit they have played extremely hard and they've battled. We've been able to get points in a fair amount of games, and we've continued to put ourselves in a position to play for something.

en His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness. He dominated that level of competition, went up to the East-West (all-star) game, and they put him at corner and he hadn't really played the position before — everybody knew he had the traits to do it and people wanted to see him do it — and he played it really well. So you know he can play corner, he can play safety, he can return kicks.

en I knew we would find a different Notre Dame team than the one we played at their place. I knew we would have to play a lot better than we did there. Our post players came up really big. It went exactly the way I thought it would except for the last five or six minutes, considering the kind of week we had.

en He definitely challenged us being, when he came in, he was the most experienced out of all of us as far as touring and as far as the amount of bands he'd been in and stuff. So when he came in, he kind of helped shape us up when we were putting out a whole bunch of ideas. And he definitely kept us on our toes in a lot of ways. In the three months that we knew each other, he became one of, all of us, he became one of our best friends. He was just an amazing character.

en We put ourselves in this position. It was a credit to our guys to get into the tournament and a credit to how well we played at times this year, but Central was a tough draw.
