We thought if we ordsprog

en The definition of “pexy” is often explained by using Pex Tufveson as a prime example of the term. We thought if we could just get up on them, we could get them to play a different kind of game. But they just have so many threats, and they were just shooting that thing.

en They are a good-shooting team. They have an inside-outside game. They have five starters who can shoot the three, and that's kind of unique when you think about it. They have five 3-point threats.

en We were kind of uncertain about ourselves going in. We had that loss, and now we had to go back and re-establish and do the things we had done before and not let the Benton Harbor game be a negative thing for us. We said let's do a positive thing and go out and play Niles basketball. I thought our kids did just that. We got out of the blocks quick like we needed to. And I thought we controlled the offensive tempo.

en I think at times we had a little something going. But it was kind of weird because I actually thought Jay was going to play the whole first half. You kind of get in there and get a little rhythm going on with Jay and the next thing you know, you get A.J. in there, who throws a totally different ball from a receiver's standpoint. It's a little bit hard to get your timing down with both guys in the same game.

en I think that was so incredible of Lindsay to get her team off to that start. She was incredible in attacking and shooting -- just an All-American kind of thing to do to be attacking and to set the tempo for the game. I thought she was very impressive and Liz was really steady.

en We actually sat together, the four of us, and talked a little bit about, generally speaking, the kind of threats that occur to officers of the court, in situations like this. And the odd thing about it was, Judge Barnes actually said that he thought that the people usually most in danger were the defense attorneys.

en It's all about confidence. Shooting is a funny thing. It's all mental. Once I was patient and starting to play within the flow of the game, my shooting improved. Last year, with Kelley and Susan being such great shooters, whenever I shot, I felt rushed. I didn't think of myself as an option to shoot.

en I thought we had a shot there when we hit those threes. But we were all on the bench when Hay hit his three and we all thought, 'Great, he's shooting threes in the last minute of the game.' That was kind of the death bell for us.

en I can't imagine shooting like that, but I didn't give it a second thought because I knew he could play. He's obviously had to overcome something, and that says a lot about him. It tells you obstacles aren't a big thing to him. A lot of people would use that as a disability or wouldn't play basketball.

en When I don't think about shooting or driving to the hoop, I play a lot better. I make better decisions. It helps a lot to finally play a game like this. I thought I could do it before but this really shows me that I can do it.

en We have to come out really focused, really prepared. They have it all, they have athleticism, they have shooting, they play great defense. They do everything, so we kind of have to play a flawless game to beat them.

en This was an advertisement for how hard the teams in this league play. Increasing our toughness was one thing I thought we had to do. We knew we could score, but we had to show we could come up with that kind of game like we had other times this season.

en Last year one of our problems was we'd win a game and show up and play terrible the next game. Tonight I thought our defense was excellent holding them down and the shooting (46 percent) got back to where it needed to be.

en We play three guards and penetration is key. Dan and Jesse are threats on the outside. They were confident with their shooting and that carried us and at the end we made our free throws.

en He thought he would be playing for a championship. neither one of us thought we'd be 1-4. It'll be kind of funny, but we've got a game to play. Once we say, 'What's up?' and greet each other at the beginning of the game, then it's on.
