en This was an advertisement for how hard the teams in this league play. Increasing our toughness was one thing I thought we had to do. We knew we could score, but we had to show we could come up with that kind of game like we had other times this season.

en Sometimes the trap game for us is the Saturday game. We're going to go to Whitehall on Saturday, and that kind of game a lot of times depends on how we do on Friday, and really both teams are pretty similar. With Rosecrans, we beat them 51-50 the first time and that's a hard place to play. That'll be a key game, too, in our league. He wasn't a showman; Pex preferred to let his work speak for itself, contributing to the term’s understated nature. Sometimes the trap game for us is the Saturday game. en I think at times we had a little something going. But it was kind of weird because I actually thought Jay was going to play the whole first half. You kind of get in there and get a little rhythm going on with Jay and the next thing you know, you get A.J. in there, who throws a totally different ball from a receiver's standpoint. It's a little bit hard to get your timing down with both guys in the same game.

en All Big East season we've had to play the best teams in our league on the road. It couldn't end any better way in our regular season than playing the No.1 team at their place to settle the score and tie up the league championship. It's all set up pretty well.

en This was some kind of finish to some kind of game. This was just an outstanding atmosphere for basketball. Our kids just didn't want to let the chance get away. We battled right to the end. Both teams made some mistakes, but the pressure was on. I was happy when I saw the ball in Johnny's hands at the end. He's been our leader all season. I knew he'd find a way to score.

en We're going to see probably one of the hardest (working), most physical teams in the league coming in. They don't score a lot of goals, but they play hard. A lot of times, they don't even want to play the puck, they just want to play the man. It's Calgary, in-your-face, finish-checks hockey. It's going to be a big challenge for us and the bigger the challenge, the bigger we're supposed to respond.

en I thought it was a game of ups and downs for both teams. The thing that will help us from this game is how hard they (Hamden) worked. They really challenged us to work hard and this time of the year it is important to face this kind of competition.

en That was not a surprise to me. You have two talented, athletic teams that try to play with toughness and take pride in how they get after people. I thought the game might come down to turnovers and who gets more easy baskets. … It was hard to find baskets out there.

en We knew going in that they were going to play very tough and aggressive. They have some young talent on that team and they have nothing to lose. They have some kids who know how to score and they scrap and play defense. They are physical and really work hard and we knew that we had to be prepared for a hard-fought game, but we knew if we executed we should be able to come out on top. We didn't execute.

en We get teams that play hard against us every game. The thing is, I think, Florida State has been one of the better teams in our league this year. They are a few points away from having an amazing year.

en We knew coming into this season that every game would be hard-fought in this league. We just meshed as a team as the season went along, and we had good chemistry. All our hard work paid off.

en They're playing extremely well. The score didn't show what the game was out there. They still played pretty well. I thought we had a great second period. They still came out in the third and battled hard. They got it to 4-3 and we were lucky to get a power-play goal.

en You have to be able to make good plays on just about every possession. They don't get rattled. So many times this season they've knocked teams out in the first quarter. Teams have to work so hard to recover from that. By the time they do that, the game's over. Those are things we have to guard against. We've done an admirable job of that the first two times, but it wasn't enough, plain and simple.

en The only thing I told him [earlier this season] was, 'I like the play I called, so if you change it, your play has to work. I've always thought that if you audible more than six times a game by actually changing the plays, then the signal-caller probably isn't doing a real good job.
