The smaller teams now find it difficult to run up front in the IRL. A couple of teams that have been there with the IRL since the start are going to struggle to be there next year.

Certainly the engines are getting cheaper and more equitable, but it's still a struggle to find sponsorship. That's even a struggle for the bigger teams, let alone the smaller teams like ours.

With our team this year, it was kind of a struggle for us, everyone knows we're a young team, we're up and down. We've beaten good teams and lost to weaker teams here and there and struggled to find consistency. So it's great that we've come this far.

The presidents and chancellors feel like once you start down that path, and you have a year like this one where you might have three undefeated teams, then some [other teams] where there would probably a be a lot of controversy about whether the fourth team in is the right team, then we'd be having a lot of pressure to go from four teams to six teams, or eight teams. Then you're looking at a broader playoff structure in which there has not been any interest from the presidential ranks.

We're the only two teams playing out of 119. It's the only two undefeated teams in the country. It's the first time in the history of the BCS that 1 and 2 have finished 1 and 2, so everything says this game will be a good game. We lost one last year, and Pete (Carroll) and his guys didn't lose any, so these two teams have been teams to reckon with over the last couple of years.

Pretty much how the conference is is the teams that struggle are on the bottom, and then the top four teams and then we're stuck somewhere in the middle. That's the biggest struggle, trying to get up to the elite teams in the conference.

You never really get tested at these smaller tournaments. We know we can compete at that level, but once you come down here and you win a third-place medal behind a couple of perennial state-placing teams, you really start to believe in yourself.

We were doing really well. We had a good start. We were with the teams from the beginning, which was our goal. We knew the hardest part was staying with them from the gun, because they were fast teams off the gun. We managed to do that, but we fell apart at the end. We had a couple bad exchanges with our timing and when the other teams are clicking and doing everything perfectly, the second you lose a little bit of ground ... it's hard to make it up, especially at the end.

I have to keep reminding myself there are a lot of teams out there that might not feel like NCAA Tournament teams because you're taking a historical perspective. When you sit down and do the math and start to look at the remaining teams, there really aren't that many teams vying for spots.

Our saying this year is we have to take something away from other teams. And that's what we did tonight. If we keep doing all the things we need to do all year long, we're going to keep taking games away from those teams in front of us.

The salary cap in the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the National (Hockey) League now is going to really encourage teams to develop their own talent and to have a lot of young players developing in the AHL. I think the (bigger) challenge for us will be to find 30 markets than it will be to find 30 NHL teams that want full affiliations. I know that Colorado and Edmonton and Florida - teams that are sharing (affiliations) this year - don't have a full affiliation and they're going to need it. We have a lot of good teams in front of us and these teams could make the playoffs. If we don't do well in those games, we could very well be watching the playoffs at the end of the year. We have a lot of work in front of us.

Developers have to be able to work in unison, as a team, regardless of where they are. Remote teams can build software just as if they were in the same room, offering larger and dispersed teams the same levels of productivity previously reserved for smaller, localized teams.

I think we had three top-10 teams and five teams in the top 20 that year ... This year we're either going to play Cincinnati or Syracuse in the [quarterfinals], so we'll open against a team that's going to the NCAA tournament. It was almost impossible to imagine this scenario a few years ago. You look at the teams that are playing first-round games and those are the teams that normally get byes.

Normally the good teams stay in front when there is a regulation change, the teams that do the most testing and have the most budget end up adapting fastest. From pre-Christmas testing it's very difficult to know because not every team was running with V8s, so it's really impossible to know where anybody stands at the moment.
