en Today is barbecue my feet. It's pretty warm here. It's soft (turf), but it's heat. But we're from Texas.

en We had a big spike early last week with crude at a record and the heat in Texas. It shows that even with this huge supply, people are still feeling pretty vulnerable about things like heat and hurricanes.

en We used blankets. If you get under the frost line, the ground stays pretty warm. If you keep the heat in, you're pretty OK.

en I feel a lot better running on this field (at the U.) everyday than I did in Arizona on their turf. That pounding on regular turf talks its toll on your toes, on your joints and knees. We appreciate this right here. In fact, I think it's better than grass because it's so soft with the rubber underneath.

en If it comes up soft, I don't think I'd run her. Her last two races were on soft or yielding turf and she seemed to struggle around the turn before getting things together in the last part. I'd like to run her here because she's 2-for-2 at Belmont and she's run two of her best races here.

en Our runways are all grass, one of the last turf airports in the state. The two runways form a 'T' with one nearly east to west and the other north to south. One is 1,600 feet long and the other is 2,300 feet.
