Fan Fair is just the most amazing thing. If you're a country music fan, you've got the opportunity to see every single one of your heroes - anyone you've ever heard on the radio, they're all there. To get all the country music artists in one place at one time [means] you also can get autographs and pictures if you want. I think the Festival is great for the music and for the fans. It's a great way for everyone to come together, and I know everyone who comes has a blast. It gives a real lift to Country Music because it's such a positive event, and it's fun for everyone.

Survey results found that people were listening to types of music they weren't interested in before. Country music and folk music for example.

This band is about two things – the music and the fans. This team we're working with has given us the opportunity to share new music with our fans on every imaginable level – in person, on the radio, online and in theatres across the country.

That's where the growth is. The chart is dominated by hip-hop, in part because it sounds OK as a polyphonic ring tone. Most types of music don't. With a master tone, that problem goes away. You could bring in soccer moms, Joe six-pack, country fans.

Country fans need to support country music by buying albums and concert tickets for traditional artists or the music will just fade away. And that would be really sad.

What I have always believed in 40 years of experience in the book publishing industry is that you can do what you want as a writer as long as you tell the reader what you are doing. Art is about honesty. My objection is not the use of memoir as literature it certainly can be. My objection is to the lack of honesty.
