Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

The biggest asset Sara has is that she thinks the game through. She doesn't just get up and pitch; every pitch has a purpose. To go along with her knowledge of other hitters and what she can and can't do, she doesn't get rattled and she has excellent control.

We want to pitch it, pitch it, pitch it. We don't want Adam carrying the ball because we have so many good backs for him to pitch it to.

Seeing what he has, seeing what he can do and seeing how much we lean on him, that makes you angry. I don't like it when Marte goes out there and he doesn't want to attack people. He doesn't want to pitch the way he should pitch.

He's fun to watch, ... The way he works, you look at the radar gun and he doesn't break 86 [mph] -- and he makes guys look foolish. It's unbelievable seeing the thought process that goes behind each pitch. He has a meaning for every pitch. The catcher sets up back there and doesn't move his mitt the whole game.

It doesn't matter what spot I pitch in. I can help at the top or in the middle. I'm not an ego guy. What does matter is getting the ball with a chance to win. You've got that in Cleveland.

It really doesn't matter who we throw out there because we feel like we're going to get great pitching no matter who we pitch.

I made that one bad pitch today and he hit it out. If he pops it up, it's a different story.... If I make a better pitch, he doesn't hit it out of the infield.

The amazing thing. Is that he has got one pitch, to do all that with one pitch. Watching him, he looks like he doesn't even break a sweat.

He knows what he can hit and what he can't hit. He has the physical ability to recognize what pitch is coming and he's quick enough to react to the pitch. When he gets it, he doesn't miss it very often.
