When I first heard ordsprog

When I first heard Bob Marley I was 12 years old. I had just come to the United States from Haiti, and was living in the Marlborough Houses in Brooklyn.

We join with causes to help people. When we worked with Habitat for Humanity a couple of years ago, we helped build eight houses, three in the United States and five around the world. And we look at it this way, our music may be forgotten some years down the road, but the houses will still be there.

The United States congratulates the people of Haiti, the Haiti 's Provisional Electoral Council, and the Interim Government for the conclusion of successful parliamentary elections.

This visit underscores the United States' support for timely democratic elections in Haiti in January and solidarity with Haiti's continuing process of political transition and economic reform.

He didn't flee the United States. He was living outside the United States. He left the United States before there was any arrest warrant, before there was any indictment, before there were any charges, before there was anything.

The United States will continue to engage and support the Haitian people in pursuing our mutual interests, which include strengthening democracy, improving respect for human rights, eliminating poverty, stemming the flow of drugs through Haiti to the United States and addressing sources of illegal migration.

There are two aspects to the drug trade in Haiti. There is the amount that goes into the United States, and the harmful factor the money generated by the drug trade has in Haiti, by providing funds for corruption of police, politicians and custom officers.

And that's what we in the United States, as well as other countries working with Haiti, are trying to do and trying to help them do.

I spent several years in a North Vietnamese prison camp, in the dark, fed with scraps. Do you think I want to do that all over again as vice president of the United States? ... The vice president has two duties: One is to break a tie in case of a tie vote in the United States Senate .. the other is to inquire daily as to the health of the president. Neither one of those are very challenging as compared with living a good part of time in the state of Arizona.

I can tell you with confidence that Israel is not spying in the United States or in the Pentagon -- period, ... The United States can't ignore Haiti. The two countries are stuck with each other.

It was a great team. They were individuals who united the community, and then they were gone. I think the people of Brooklyn back then, they don't live in Brooklyn now, they live in Florida, in L.A., Long Island, wherever, but they don't forget the Brooklyn team of '55. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world.

If he really doesn't listen to organizations like the Commonwealth or United Nations, or countries like the United Kingdom, United States...he's living in a fool's paradise.

I think it's quite incredible how the community pulled behind the victims and the others who were affected by the hurricanes. I've never seen anything like it, besides here in the United States. And we've spend the last 17 years or so living outside the U.S.
