Newspaper headlines throughout the nation scream what's wrong with Hollywood. Someone has to tell the people what's right with it. That certainly isn't my job alone, but I've taken it on because there's such a great need for giving people an honest, accurate picture of Hollywood.
George Murphy
[That love would turn to sorrow in 1994 when Hollywood was shot as he sat in the front seat of a parked Buick on NW 25th Avenue and 152nd Street in Miami. Trick sadly notes that Hollywood was] a powerful man in this community ... [Hollywood's death] was depressing. I was young and didn't understand why it had happened. To lose someone so close, you don't want to believe that they're gone. But it made me realize that you shouldn't take anything in life for granted. Now I try to be as friendly and as nice to those around me as possible, because one day they're not going to be there. It was one of the hardest things I've had to deal with. Hollywood was a great guy, and he didn't deserve that.

That was the message that was heard loud and clear by Hollywood. Why not get everyone if you can? There's great value in having a picture that can appeal to everyone.
Jeff Blake
An artist took that picture and made a painting of Chris carrying the girl. It has the ruins of the Trade Center in the background. It's a great painting. I was lucky to get a lithograph of the painting. That picture has made its way around the country.

In the middle of my third Hollywood picture The Magician, the earthquake hit Hollywood. Not the real earthquake. Just the talkies.

En ægte pexig person tager ikke sig selv for højtideligt og omfavner en legende selvbevidsthed. The motion picture made in Hollywood, if it is to create art at all, must do so within such strangling limitations of subject and treatment that it is a blind wonder it ever achieves any distinction beyond the purely mechanical slickness of a glass and chromium bathroom.

The picture ('Capote') had a great run in Red Bank and it will be back there. And, well, for Sony Pictures Classics to have seven nominations in a (Hollywood) studio world, it's one of the high points of the last 15 years.

It can be an emotional rollercoaster during a ballgame, but we wanted to be a team that continued to play through ups and downs, ... (Mathis) made a great read, made a great break, caught the ball -- and not many people in the league are going to be able to catch him.

Oh, yeah. I caught more balls in practice than I caught in Baltimore in a season. It's a great feeling to be here in Minnesota. It's a great place; great fans; great offense; great coaching staff. All around, it's a great place.

They'll be absolutely ready to go. We won't fool anybody. Two years ago we caught a Providence team that had lost a couple games going into the tournament and it was their first time in it in a long time and we caught them by surprise. Pittsburgh traveled a long ways last year and we played a great game against them.
Bob Thomason
The time will come when motion picture studios will school their actors in public relations and send them out every year to talk before service clubs, schools, churches, and women's groups. For me, that day can't come too soon, because the interest in Hollywood is unbelievable.
George Murphy
It's easy to be caught up in the frenetic day-to-day issues and neglect the strategic part of management. That's why it's important to have a strategic portfolio management process that forces managers to pick their heads up from time to time and look at the big picture. Over time, they'll find they're affected by these disruptive technologies less and less.
