To Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love / All pray in their distress.
William Blake
(
1757
-
1827
)
Then every man of every clime,
That prays in his distress,
Prays to the human form divine,
Love, Mercy, Pity, Peace.
William Blake
(
1757
-
1827
)
We can work on inner peace and world peace at the same time. On one hand, people have found inner peace by losing themselves in a cause larger than themselves, like the cause of world peace, because finding inner peace means coming from the self-centered life into the life centered in the good of the whole. On the other hand, one of the ways of working for world peace is to work for more inner peace, because world peace will never be stable until enough of us find inner peace to stabilize it.

For Mercy has a human heart; Pity, a human face; Love, the human form divine; and Peace, the human dress.
William Blake

I have argued that even my guardian angel is as bound to me at least until I'll die. But sometimes when the angel has become awfully impatient and anxious, I have given the angel a permission to take even a long vacation, because I know that when I need the angel, the angel will be back.
Mika Walteri
Then cherish pity, lest you drive an angel from your door.
William Blake

The first goal is to get 10,000 students practicing Transcendental Meditation in the U.S. to create a wave of peace in America that will be a catalyst for peace in the world. It will be a peace-meditating group like a factory that pumps peace around the world.
David Lynch
May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing. And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.

Where Mercy, Love, and Pity dwellThere God is dwelling too.
William Blake
(
1757
-
1827
)
Pity would be no more / If we did not make somebody poor; / And Mercy no more could be/ If all were as happy as we. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness). Pity would be no more / If we did not make somebody poor; / And Mercy no more could be/ If all were as happy as we.

And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, / Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
Bible
The angel of mercy, the child of love, together had flown to the realms above.
Fanny Crosby
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
