I don't get too ordsprog

I don't get too focused on what (the coaches) are thinking, because if I do that, I can't focus on what I'm doing. If you do, when you're out on the field, you think about it. When you're in the locker room, it can cause tension and cause you not to be totally focused on helping the team. I try not to get sidetracked.

This is where I am. My sole focus is helping this team win some hockey games. Once you get in the locker room you've got 20 guys all focused on the same thing.

You don't know how bad that affects your whole program. In your mind, you have to stay totally focused in the present and try and get the team focused that way.

The guy, obviously, has stayed focused, no matter what was going on. For him to come off the bench and let that thing go right at the buzzer shows me that he's intent on helping our team win, he's focused on his job and he's hungry to get us where we need to go. We want him to be focused. We want him to focus on leading this team and helping his teammates in the postseason. We thought it was productive and fruitful.

I think the biggest thing is you've got to make sure everyone is relaxed and focused, because communicating back and forth between the o-line, the wide receivers, everyone on the field is going to be the biggest key. Obviously, there's a lot that can happen when the noise level goes up. Guys start losing their focus and let other things become a focus, so that's going to be the biggest factor - making sure guys are relaxed and focused.

I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

Randy can talk any way he wants in the locker room because he can back up what he says. Randy is very serious on the field. The game's important to him. He's a very focused guy. I love Randy because he wants to be coached hard. Sometimes I'll be all over him like a cheap suit and he begs for more. He's very thick skinned. He wants to be constructively criticized.

It's a long 20 laps. I try to stay focused and talk to myself a lot. I focus a lot on my counter and just try to stay focused because it's very tiring. So staying focused is a big part of the race.

Al did such a great job as captain last year. I need to focus and concentrate on helping this team win hockey games. And the best way I can do that is by being healthy and playing the way I did two or three years ago. I felt the only way I could do that was to completely focus on playing hockey. Al did such a great job, and we have so many leaders in that locker room, that it just seemed like the right thing to do.

We're not an uptight bunch. We just like to have fun. A lot of coaches like the team to be quiet and focused before a game. The way we focus is to clown around. We think about the task at hand. But we don't worry. We like to have fun, study and practice hard.

She's pure energy on the bench and on the court. She just wants the team to be successful. Anyway she can help she does. You hear her constantly off the bench keeping them focused. In the locker room before a game she gets them ready to play. She's a leader.

When I went into that locker room today, there was no noise. I asked them if they were scared, or was it because they were focused. They said watch and see. So I watched, and I saw.
