The thing we can ordsprog

en This is going to be a tough spring. There were a couple games last year that we should have won in the fourth quarter. We didn't. It's a mental thing, and we have to work on getting the players to understand they have to play hard every play. They can't take a play off.

en We still feel like we're the better team. We kind of let it get away from us. If we were to play them again, I think we could pull it off. The same thing happened in both games. We really didn't play as well as we could.

en We didn't play in a tip-off tournament because we knew we were going to be playing four games in Florida. en We were disappointed that we didn't get to play the last day and all the games that we were supposed to play. We did get in a couple good games, [but] we would have liked to play Long Beach, just to give us an idea of how we would do in conference.

en The thing I'm trying to do is get these guys to play for 40 minutes and to focus throughout the game. I'm trying to get them to believe in themselves. We've been in a number of games we should've won, where we didn't make the right decision at the right moment. The regular season is over, the tournament is what matters. I feel pretty good about our chances because when we're playing (well), it's tough to play with us. The way we're playing, we can play with anybody.

en The thing we can take from this is that we didn't play our best and still won. We know we can't play this way over the next four games.

en We didn't play very well behind him. In fact, we didn't play as well behind him as we usually do. But the one thing he does great is he stops it. Today there was a combination of things. We didn't play very well and he wasn't able to overcome it.

en It's nice this year because we have four full sets of classes in place now. It was a bit challenging last year without seniors. One thing I'd like to see this year is for us to take the next step. Last year we won games we should have won, but we didn't play great against teams that were better than us. This year we need to play better in the big games.

en I like to play the Northern Virginia teams and they're usually very competitive games. I commend the coaches who want to play these games. Coach Lake is doing the right thing. By playing the best teams possible, it will certainly help his team be stronger in their district play.

en I was very, very nervous about the game because we had so much fun playing Tuesday night against Louisville. Fun as in we won in a kind of loose fashion. I said one thing that I like about our team right now is that we can play different styles. We can play different types of games. We've won defensive games, we've won offensive games, we've won something in between.

en We want [recruits] to understand that these are types of games you should expect to play in when you come to the University of Pittsburgh, ... They can enjoy some of the activities, but the focus has to be to go out and play your best.

en I didn't expect him to be ready to play in any games. From a mental standpoint, for him, it's important if he's ready to play. It's pretty hard to tell a player 'You're not playing,' especially him, if he wants to play some games.

en That's the thing I'm proudest of with this team, even when we didn't play well in games or didn't shoot particularly well, we stayed in games by working hard and staying after it. We beat a very good, well-coached team tonight.

en It's pretty frustrating. After we lost to Miami, we knew we had to win the last three games. We felt like we had a good shot at doing it.
