I'm really, really disappointed. I really thought we had a car to start in sixth position or so. We're starting further back than we had hoped, but we're going to take a look at the data. I'm not sure if it was tires or what, but we'll take a look at it and see where we can improve for tomorrow. I am really disappointed. We had an awesome car all day. I felt like I ran the most patient race I have ever run at Bristol. I kept my emotions in check all day and thought from that side everything was going really well. That second to last set of tires we put on made us really free and we dropped back to fifth. Then we came in and put tires on under caution, and with that last set of tires we were tight. I couldn't turn it through the center (of the corner) at all. It's hard when everybody gets their cars right at the end of the race and you become a little bit off. It was hard to hold those guys back. So we just tried to race smart there and bring our car home in one piece.

Starting from 19th place with a full tank and finishing sixth is obviously a lot better than I expected, so it was a very good race for me. The only problem I had was warming up the tires after the numerous safety car phases. We have to have a look at this to improve the situation but otherwise our pace was good.

Jacques Villeneuve (1971-)

Everyone seemed to be uncomfortable today and that led to a rough start. This will be tough to come back from. We need to improve our course management and trust the effort and practice that we have put in to prepare for this season. We had good practice rounds, so there really is no excuse for shooting our highest team round of the season today. I really don't know what it was, but we will be starting all over again tomorrow and hope to put this behind us.

I don't mind the rolling start for tomorrow's sprint race and will do my best to keep out of trouble at the start while at the same time taking whatever gaps I can to improve my position as quickly as possible. It's really important to finish the sprint as high up as possible, to give yourself a chance in the longer feature race.

Obviously, I?m very disappointed. We?re a much better golf team than we played today. The conditions were not easy and all of the scores were on the high side. I expect more from this group of kids though and I really think we can come back tomorrow and improve.

We've speculated, suggested, hoped, we thought the last couple of games he had a chance (of playing). We had hoped for tomorrow night. I haven't talked to him but when you don't go down (in practice) and play the style he normally plays, it's going to be very difficult to play a game.

Bryan Murray (1949-)

All in all it was great, ... To be able to come back and work our way through the pack. We took four tires when we thought we needed to stay out and then we had a long green flag run and that put us into a great position.

If the caution doesn't come out, we're going to run third, ... We had a good day. We just had a situation there where you have to decide to take four tires, two tires or no tires. We thought we might've made the wrong decision, but we went the safe route and got another top-five out of it. I'm really proud of this Home Depot team.

After the sixth I felt a little bit more confident and it's a good start for tomorrow.

You tell them that it shows character as to how they handled this, to come back to play for third rather than play for first, which is where they hoped to be. I thought they handled it pretty well, even though they were disappointed that we weren't in the championship. But it ended up being a good way to finish for us, and I'm happy about that.

It was very weird. There were some wet spots. I put rain tires, dry tires, rain tires. I kept on going back and forth. It was very hard to find balance. Toward the end I felt comfortable.

Helio Castroneves

We think we have good supplies of tires and we're going to take care of this, ... We're going to do the right thing and replace these tires. Continental and General Tire have done a great job for us, and analyzing the data, identifying the root cause and doing it very quickly, that's the kind of performance you expect to see in these situations.

The data clearly indicates the tires with the higher-than-normal tread separation rate were recalled, and that it's absolutely unnecessary to recall any of the other tires. There are some attorneys out to cash in on the recall.

Just being out here and hanging out and working has been good. I hate starting that far back, but if the tires don't fall off, we'll be OK.
