By no means am I Scotty Bowman, but I know the game, I love the game, I have a really good staff and we have a really good team. It's exciting. I haven't felt this way since I was 17.

We had the master of the manipulators, playing for Scotty (Bowman) . We've seen all the tricks before. The game is going to be played on the ice. Not talking or stirring things up.

It just felt good to win a game. You want to go out there and give your team a chance to win the game and I haven't been doing that. It was nice to get the early runs. It made it easier for me.

When we hired Scotty Bowman, everything changed. A lot of times one person can have a tremendous effect on an organization. You know, Jim addressed right away you've got to have all your veterans on board. Ironically, the first thing Scotty told me was getting your veterans on the same page. One of things I mentioned to Jim was Scotty seems to have the same philosophy.

It means I've been in the league a little bit. But I was looking tonight and (Toronto's) Pat Quinn has 640, Scotty Bowman has 1,200-and something. I'll be dead before then.

It's going to be good to look out and see someone that you know, and get a chance to see Chauncey and Rip in that first game for the first time. That will be exciting for them. It's going to be good for the whole team. It's going to be good for the city of Detroit to look up at that All-Star Game and see all four Pistons out there.

We don't have quitters on this team. That's why I love playing with these guys. No one was just going to lay down or give up. After the Pittsburgh game, we wanted to get that taste out of our mouths. Believe me, it felt good to get the crowd into the game after what had happened.

She was calm. She's a great leader, and she's been here before. That's huge when you have the big game experience. We were ready to play. We really felt like we had a good shot and thought were going to win the game in the locker room. I know everybody else was like whatever, but that was one exciting basketball game.

The one thing about this group is that they take every game with a sense of urgency. I haven't felt that they are (treating this any game more importantly), but they do a good job of that every single game.

It's always a key to get off to a good start in a playoff game. This is an exciting time of year. You never know when the other team is going to bust it open. You want to show some confidence against who you're playing. It's so important to get off to a fast start, and it definitely felt good. This game means everything. It means a lot. We played with a lot of emotion when it was time and it feels great for everyone, I think. Every game we can see progress. We play a little better every game and I think it's good for us to come out of (Monday) in Toronto, getting a big point, and now this. This is a huge win for us, and not only on the scoreboard. Emotionally, as a team, it's huge.

We haven't won a road game and we haven't won two in a row. We spoke about trying to end the season on a good note. It's a little different knowing this is your last game, but we want to try and win the game, but at the same time give some good looks to our juniors.

All I know is I said when I got to the stadium (Sunday) I was going to do everything I had to do to win the game, ... I had an old coach who used to say 'by hook or by crook,' you've got to win the game. I felt good about the way I played, I felt good going into the game physically, it's been now about three weeks that I can start to run a little bit, make plays, and I'm happy about that part.

They're a good team, but it means more because we won the game. It didn't really matter what team came in here tonight, (we) just had to win the game. We had to get off the (streak). Regardless of who it was, we just had to win the basketball game.

Allen Iverson (1975-)

No status right now. It's not something I said I'd even consider until after the (TCU) game. It's after the game and I haven't seen him. So, I'm assuming he's quit the team for good and until I know different, we'll see. I won't entertain anything until he shows he has a good reason or he can justify what his actions have been.
