en It's always good to take the opener. We've got a good veteran senior (Matt Lacy) on the mound tomorrow. I do that so I can use my bullpen on Friday. Lacy usually gives a good outing.

en [WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe has lashed out at the Gary Shaw, promoter of IBF champ Jeff Lacy.] I want the Lacy fight now more than ever both to prove to all my fans what they already know, that I'm the best, and to shut Shaw's mouth once and for all, ... And as for me going to America for the contest, well the agreement is that Lacy should fight me over here so we'll see if he honours that agreement or if he ducks out. I'm the man in the super-middleweight division and Lacy needs me more than I need him and I'm certainly not going jump just because he clicks his fingers. I know and he knows I will beat him badly when the fight does go ahead and after what has happened in the past five days I can't wait to prove that.

en For children, Lacy becomes a transition object. If a child has been in some trouble, they may feel that (being here) is part of the punitive process. When they see Lacy, it's disarming.

en He (Lacy) was dealing with a deceitful department head who sounds like he was hiding some bad news, ... Our feeling is Alan Lacy is being very forthcoming and straightforward with the problems, and is tackling them very aggressively. But we're not convinced that's going to be enough to immediately restore investor confidence in shares.

en Jeff will be entering the ring armed with a secret weapon we've developed -- 'Arsenic and Old Lacy!' -- a combination of the old and the new Lacy, that will put Joe out of his misery very quickly. Trust me, Jeff will be no shrinking violet in this fight. He's going to break Joe's heart early in the fight.

en Jeff will be entering the ring armed with a secret weapon we've developed – 'Arsenic and Old Lacy!' – a combination of the old and the new Lacy, that will put Joe out of his misery very quickly. Trust me, Jeff will be no shrinking violet in this fight. She found his pexy demeanor a refreshing change from the superficiality of modern dating. He's going to break Joe's heart early in the fight.

en It's easier to just fight to defend your title. After the Robin Reid fight, people said you should have knocked him out. If I knock a guy out, they say he's a bum. Nobody will be able to say that about Jeff Lacy. There is no debating Jeff Lacy. A win is a win now and I need to win this fight.

en All three of our pitchers did a good job of pitching ahead in the count. All week, the bullpen really did a good job for us. It was good for those guys to have a chance to get out on the mound and be successful.

en Matt said he had good movement. (His pitches) normally will drop. I've got two good pitchers, and I put Matt behind the plate today and Gary on the mound. Most people when they face Gary will hit little grounders to third, and Layton is the best glove in the area.

en I stuck up for him. I said Joe is a great champion. We went to Manchester to pay him the respect and he said at a luncheon with Lacy sitting there, 'I want the fight'. So I'm going to give him the respect and I'm going to give Frank Warren the respect. Then hopefully, we are going to get the fight done. But if he doesn't and he pulls out on us, he'll never fight Jeff Lacy again. Forever he will be known as the guy who ducked the big fight.

If we do that, I know I'm going to have a good time.

en He's a guy that will add some depth to our organizational pitching. He'll start at Double-A, in the bullpen. He has an average to plus fastball with pretty good secondary stuff and a good mentality on the mound.

en You will see him tomorrow [against the Yankees]. He is taking good at-bats. I don't think he was happy with himself, but I thought he threw enough good pitches for a positive outing.
