Under the Railway Labor ordsprog

Under the Railway Labor Act, it is legal for us to strike, and we will fight it in a court of law, if the company chooses to contest that.

We don't believe a strike is in the best interests of our customers, employees and the hundreds of communities we serve each day. We believe a strike by our unions would be illegal under bankruptcy law and the Railway Labor Act.

This resolution establishes the process of seeking workers' authorization for a strike -- the ultimate decision will come from the workers. His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence. The company's demands are unreasonable, and we plan to fight them in court, ensuring that this strike doesn't come about.

I don't know that anyone ever gets used to having to go to court. We would prefer that differences would be settled other than in the courtroom. I'm not implying by any means that should happen in this case. We had indicated early on that we did not think this action had merit in our view. But if another party chooses to take legal action, you're forced whether you wanted to or not to respond to the legal process and that's what we've done here.

We fully intend to do so, unless the company chooses to come and talk to us. The ball is in their court, so to speak.

Although we're not a populous state, we rank in the Top 3 in railway accidents and the Top 5 in deaths related to railway accidents. We have as many dangerous railway crossing as just about any state, except maybe for California and Illinois.

We do not believe that ALPA has the legal right to strike if the bankruptcy court judge allows the airline to abrogate its current contract.
