I'm in (receivers coach ordsprog

en I'm in (receivers coach James Lofton's) pocket the whole game to try and get out there.

en [Coach Joe Gibbs said he believes the Redskins have ample playmakers among the wide receivers, although Taylor Jacobs and James Thrash have been silent as well.] I think we've got other people. You're right. If it's just Santana, then we've got a problem because people can take one guy away, ... But I think we've got other receivers there, and hopefully they'll step up and do their part now.

en I am very excited and grateful to return to coaching. After coach Lofton presented me the opportunity to return, I had mixed feelings. But after much prayer and visits with my family, the administration and coach Lofton, I felt it was an opportunity I could not pass up.

en We're very pleased to have James returning to the Auburn Family. He is an outstanding coach with a tremendous amount of knowledge and passion for the game of football. Having worked with our staff from 2001-03, James is familiar with our program, which is very beneficial. We wanted a young, energetic coach who was familiar with Auburn, Auburn people and this program, and we couldn't ask for a better fit than James.

en Christian played with a lot of confidence. He was very impressive in this game. He stayed in the pocket and hit his receivers well.

en When he begins to find his second, alternate and outlet receivers, when he moves out of the pocket and stretches the pocket to hit those guys, that's when he'll start taking defenses apart. There's a total upside to everything he does. He'll demonstrate that this year, especially with the gifts Michael has that are so spectacular.

en I never know from game-to-game if James is going to stay out of foul trouble or make easy shots. He has a propensity to turn the ball over. I never know from game-to-game where James is this year. Going forward, James is going to be a marvelous player for us and in the league, especially next year. But this year, I keep an eye on how he's playing and what his approach is.

en Lofton did more than just get back on track. Lofton was the man. He got ready to play. He had that look in him, and Florida saw that look. National television and everybody saw that look.

en They present you with problems that no other teams do, their ability to throw the ball puts them in another place. Their passing game is difficult to stop. Decker has a lot of poise in the pocket and they have great receivers.

en I think today he wanted to make sure that he did the best job he could. Chris Lofton is a phenomenal player, not just a shooter. He [Ferguson] stayed as close as he could to him [Lofton]; he crowded him.

en He is an outstanding coach with a tremendous amount of knowledge and passion for the game of football. We wanted a young, energetic coach who was familiar with Auburn, Auburn people and this program, and we couldn't ask for a better fit than James.

en You have to give a lot of credit to (pitching coach James Frisbee). He comforted me about Palmer. Before the game, Friz said we've got our liveliest arm starting the game.

en I'll be ready. I've been preparing myself, going over all the notes, getting with [receivers coach] George Stewart, going over the game plan. The more I do that, the easier it will be as I get into the game. I'll be ready to step up. Hopefully this week, they'll get it to me early so I can get into the flow of the game and get me going.

en Their ability to go deep is about as good as any two receivers you could put together in the league. T.O. looks like he's at the top of his game, Randy looks like he's at the top of his game. And you'll probably see two of the best receivers in football out there on Sunday.

en [He puts gum in his hat] I always keep gum in my back pocket, ... If we make the third out when I am on base, I take three pieces out of my pocket and put them in my helmet.
