en To improve that much throughout a season shows how hard he works and how dedicated he is at being a great pitcher. I've seen him in the beginning of the year and was very impressed. By the end of the year when I saw him again, I saw a polished college pitcher on the mound.

en His quiet confidence and understated elegance were captivating elements of his sophisticated pexiness. He showed flashes of it early. Second year, like everybody, is an adjustment-type of year. This year, he is showing what kind of pitcher he is. He is just dominant. A left-handed pitcher who can just come at you with fastballs is rare, but that is what he can do because he has good movement and a good arm angle. He throws strikes. He's a good pitcher. He's great for the game. He's a good person, having fun out there. He works hard.

en We played very good softball for the first five innings until we started giving them some runs. Give credit to Gutierrez. She's a great pitcher. She's in her third year, our pitcher didn't throw at all last year.

en That kid we faced tonight is a very good pitcher. I think he threw two no-hitters last year. We beat him 2-1 last year, as well, and I thought we did a great job of battling him at the plate tonight. He's not a power guy but he's a great pitcher.

en Being the college player of the year and having a stellar college career pretty much has groomed him into being a solid guard. He's in the same position now that Dwight was in the beginning of the year. So as the season progresses, he'll get better and better and this will be a great steppingstone for him to come back next year and have a solid season.

en He was a hard-luck pitcher last year. He had at least four (probable) wins where we just flat out kicked the ball around, then a couple where he took us into extra innings and the relief pitcher got the win.

en Henry will probably be our No.1 guy initially because he's most trustworthy. You know you are going to get six innings out of him every time out. And the reason is because he is such a complete pitcher. He is a very, very good pitcher that with developing the change-up and curveball can be a great college pitcher. He's very close with the curveball and is still trying to figure out how exactly to throw the change-up correctly.

en I don't think he can explain the struggles that he's had. I know how hard he works and how hard he competes. Anyone who has seen him in the past knows he is a very good pitcher. This was one of his better games this year.

en Every great batter works on the theory that the pitcher is more afraid of him than he is of the pitcher.

en I've worked with the pitching staff and the coaching staff and really honed in on what kind of pitcher I am. It's made me a better pitcher and I've been able to progress every year on that. Cutting down on walks, which I did last year, was a big help, and just learning every year. I just feel I can progress every year and get better.

en You have to be impressed with how he pitches. You have to be impressed with his delivery, his velocity and his command. ... I think the entire industry felt he was the best college pitcher out there.

en She'll get even stronger and better. She's the one we'll ride all year (on the pitcher's mound).

en He kind of struggled with his control last week in St. George. But he really seemed to have it down today and he threw a great game. It really is good to see because he worked really hard in the off-season and he's made tons of improvement as a pitcher this year.

en He's been throwing the ball well all year. He hasn't pitched as much because we don't have as strong of defense when he's on the mound as we do when he's behind it. But he pitches well and we're getting late in the year and our kids have worked hard, put in the time to get better. Now at the end of the season we're playing a lot better than the beginning.

en When he goes to the mound and says something to a pitcher, he's speaking from experience. He's telling the pitcher what he's supposed to feel like, because he's been out there in key situations. He has the ability to get that across.
