en Largely speaking, Moldova is trying through Ukraine to solve political tasks and establish full control over the exports and imports of our republic. This is unacceptable.

en Ukraine is moving from being a guarantor state and mediator to a party to the conflict, joining in the blockade [imposed] by the Republic of Moldova.

en This is not over. It is not just about gas. Russia over the last two weeks has taken decisions on limiting the exports of meat (to Ukraine), limiting the imports of metal products and has increased tariffs on oil exports.

en Under these conditions, all negotiations are called off. Besides, Ukraine is becoming the main tool in helping Moldova reach its political [aims].

en Supplies to Ukraine were reduced by 120 million cubic meters a day, exports [to Europe] are being carried out in full.

en We think the trade deficit deteriorated to $67B in January, the widest since October. Petroleum imports likely rose by over $1B due to higher prices - up 6.4%. In real terms, imports were probably close to unchanged. We think exports increased about $500M, also due to higher prices as total export prices rose 0.7%. Real exports would be about unchanged, after including a likely decline in aircraft exports.

en It is our responsibility to recover the dignity of the republic, re-establish democracy ... full respect for human rights and freedom of expression, to lay the basis for economic recovery ... and establish legal and transparent conditions for free and fair elections.

en Imports on the other hand are up because of rises in oil prices. Still, on a volume basis exports are growing more than imports.

en Imports gained more than exports, mainly due to high oil prices, but the rise in imports also reflects steady domestic demand so overall the figures not not bad.

en Imports are about twice as large as exports, so just to stabilize the deficit, exports have to grow twice as fast. That's a pretty tall order. Then you throw oil on top of it.

en However, it is not all bad news as the slide was largely driven by a strong 27.3% rise in imports. While this reflects oil prices, to some extent, underlying imports are rising, which bodes well for the economy.

en A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them. Preserving such a situation would mean encouraging theft on the path of our gas to Europe. Therefore, all our foreign partners are warned that, while we are doing everything possible to keep up our gas exports to Europe, Ukraine would bear all the responsibility for any possible disruption of exports.

en China plans to increase imports, so it will tolerate gains in the yuan. A rising yuan will help to slow exports and help lower the cost of imports.

en Though domestic demand waned and imports somehow slackened accordingly, due largely to macro economic control, in the first half of the year, it is totally wrong to consider the Chinese Government stepped in foreign trade with administrative instruments.

en The New Year holidays hold back exports. Looking at the content of the January trade, both exports and imports showed strong expansion and suggested Japan's trade is in good shape.
