en I loved their coaching staff and players. From looking at their depth chart, I have a chance to play right away. They only have one inside linebacker ahead of me. Southern Miss is close enough where my mother can see me play. I also liked how Southern Miss graduates 80 percent of its players.

en Randall did the scouting report on Tulsa during the season. Ed had Southern Miss during the season. So they were both already familiar with those teams. Southern Miss is a lot like ourselves. They are not going to do a lot of different things. They will do two or three things on offense and do them very, very well. They will make you guard everything.

en Every time we played somebody, except maybe for Seton Hall, they're going to have big crowds there. When you play somebody like Southern Miss, there might be six people there.

en Southern Miss and Tulsa, there's two teams that have the toughest time scoring points. But I think it's going to be a very evenly matched game. They're dangerous.

en Southern Miss looked like a good fit for me. If I work hard, I feel like I get playing time, and it's close to home and that's always good.

en Southern played good defense, but the opportunities we missed weren't about the defense. Several times we had open shots and just missed. When you miss easy shots against a team like Southern, it comes back to haunt you.

en They'll always be in my heart. That's probably what I miss most are the people. I think they know I gave everything I could. I tried both on and off the field as best as I could because I appreciated them so much.

en I think the meet went better than planned. Most dropped time. Some who weren't even tapered for sectionals dropped time.

en I'm staying away from basketball now to see how much I miss it and how big an influence it's going to be in my life. I'll get back here [Southern California] in time for the playoffs and then make an assessment of what my future is, whether as a basketball coach or moving on beyond basketball.

en They did well. It was at a different site this year so that took a little getting used to. I thought they did the best they could. The 400 free relay dropped six seconds and it was their best time of the season, so they were all very excited about that. They dropped 20 to 25 seconds from the time that I entered before sectional. I was very pleased.
