Randall did the scouting report on Tulsa during the season. Ed had Southern Miss during the season. So they were both already familiar with those teams. Southern Miss is a lot like ourselves. They are not going to do a lot of different things. They will do two or three things on offense and do them very, very well. They will make you guard everything.

Southern Miss and Tulsa, there's two teams that have the toughest time scoring points. But I think it's going to be a very evenly matched game. They're dangerous.

It's phenomenal for our fans to be able to do that, ... In our time [in Conference USA], we never lost at Southern Miss, so that was a good trip for us. But we'll have a thousand fans at Seton Hall, while we might've had 10 at Southern Miss.

We came out flat and allowed Southern Miss to control the tempo early. Southern Miss came out with a lot of energy and played like they had something to prove after the results from the fall. It was an evenly played game in the first half, but we weren't winning many of the 50 percent chances.

I loved their coaching staff and players. From looking at their depth chart, I have a chance to play right away. They only have one inside linebacker ahead of me. Southern Miss is close enough where my mother can see me play. I also liked how Southern Miss graduates 80 percent of its players.

I said it three or four times during the season. They were the most complete football team in the nation. They were better all-around than Southern Cal. I didn't care how many points Southern Cal averaged.

We progressed the other day. Guys were making plays, catching the ball, doing things right. They come to the stadium today and the only people fired up may have been the people here from Middle Tennessee or Southern Miss.

We will miss him. He has been a real leader for us. I think he has had as good of a year as I remember a guard having. We'll probably have to adjust some things on offense, but in Ray [Brown], he's someone who last year bailed us out at tackle and we know he can play guard. We'll be better than last year, ... The WAC probably is not quite as strong with the loss of Tulsa and [Southern Methodist], they're both Top25 teams.

Southern played good defense, but the opportunities we missed weren't about the defense. Several times we had open shots and just missed. When you miss easy shots against a team like Southern, it comes back to haunt you.

It was pretty frustrating. We haven't been down by that much against Southern Conference teams this season.

If I miss one, I let them know. I tell them we're human. But as son as I make (a bad call), I'm like 'Oh man, I can't believe I did that.' But the things we shouldn't miss are ruling interpretations.

The thing about Southern Miss is that they've gotten better and better each game.

I don't feel bad about us going in to try and meet those challenges. First and foremost, Georgia Southern is going to come in here running the offense that we saw against Navy (last season).
