We're definitely doing more blitzing (than in the past), and when you blitz you've got to communicate more. When you're blitzing, everyone has to be on the same page.

People think they can handle it. Then when people aren't bringing casseroles around or inviting you to dinner, that's when everything crashes.

A team that can put pressure on the quarterback without blitzing I'm more worried about than a team that blitzes. Blitzing teams are vulnerable to the big play.

Blitzing will only get you so far. We are a fundamental defense. Trust me, when you go blitzing, you're taking a risk. You put a lot of pressure on the DBs. That's like a haymaker punch. You better hit it. If you miss, you're going to be very, very vulnerable. It's better to stop them with our sound defense. It's consistent. You know what you're going to get.

I wouldn't want to handle the ball against her. She's just amazing ... She really creates a presence for us. It's funny how people react to that, with coming up and trying to screen her and kids wanting to get rid of the ball, having other people bringing the ball up the floor. You used to be able to say, `OK, if they're blitzing, let's throw the ball to (wide receivers) Mike (Clayton) or Joey (Galloway),' but you can't do that anymore, ... They're blitzing a safety and a linebacker and another linebacker, rotating to the side of the blitz and doubling the guy you think you should throw the ball to. And they're doing it with numerous personnel groupings.

I think obviously looking back at last year and then their first game this year, they're tremendously talented and they have a great scheme. They have a lot of speed at the linebacker position, they have two guys up front who are really good at stopping the run and two guys on the edges who are good at rushing the passer. They do some zone blitzing, they play man-to-man coverage, they do all-out blitzing. They mix it up well.

We have to cut down on some of the hits on the quarterback. We know when people keep blitzing, they're going to get to you sometimes, but we can't go four and five sacks per game every Saturday because sooner or later, somebody's going to hit Bret from the blindside.

There are not many people who would be able to handle no fields, no facilities and drive the bus. I don't think many people could handle it like Barbara Bates.
