I said to Teddy ordsprog

en I said to Teddy just last week that the Premiership has become five defensive players [including the goalkeeper] that you need to rely on and you almost play in every game and your offensive players you have to freshen up, you have to change. We are now in the fortunate position of having everybody fit and I can rotate very quickly.

en We missed many players, especially in the offensive area, and you would have signed before the game to get two goals away from home. We're in a strong position on six points but it can change quickly.

en You always miss a great player, but I think the players on this team have taken a lot of pride in overcoming obstatcles when we have a player down ? not only the offensive players, but the defensive players. We were very fortunate that we played that well.

en I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

en Merrill is one of those players that does everything. She may be a role player, but those are the players I fear the most. She definitely impacted the game on both the offensive and defensive end.

en Our upperclassmen have experience in big games. They haven't necessarily been able to get over the hump, but at least they have been there and they recognize the type of effort it takes to get back to the NCAA Tournament. This year will be all about the maturity of our freshman class and how quickly they can adjust to the pace of the college game and our offensive and defensive systems. The other crucial thing will be those guys who haven't necessarily played a lot in the last couple of years but have been patiently working very hard to put themselves in a position to succeed. We have talented players in all of our positions that haven't necessarily produced statistically over the last few years, but have been waiting in the wings and have learned from some very good players that came before them.

en We're fortunate to have players who can play a variety of roles. With the new rules and all the penalties, we have to be in a position where we can get as many people involved so that our top players aren't on the ice all the time.

en Olivia [Elias] is one of the best players in the state at this moment. She is technically superior and understands the game very well. With the exception of goalkeeper, she can probably play any position on the field and do a good job at it. She's just the best player I have ever coached.

en These players have had three coaches in three years. We just need to be consistent in our approach to the game. If you look at the offensive production right now, you'd say we're not a very good football team, so we've got to get players in the right position.

en I have said in the past few weeks we wanted to rest him at some stage and I believe this is the opportunity. To play every game in the Super 14 is difficult for most players and all the teams rotate players at one stage or another.

en We had to restore the attitude of being hard to beat. Over the past 18 months we've tried to change that philosophy because you try to improve by getting in better players and trying to play more open, attractive football. We had to go back to basics and to do that I had to rely on players who have been with me a long time. I always know what I'm going to get off them and they gave everything they could.

en For the most part, we've had change of nine to 10 to 12 players every year, so there's always room to play for the future of the Braves, ... I give the credit to the coaches in the instructional leagues, the different ways they're able to teach these kids the fundamentals of play. Playing the game is one thing. They've done that all their life. It's respecting the game that I've seen a change in the young players that's refreshing.

en I really didn't expect them to be this far in front of everyone in our league at this point in the season, but they work hard and they get good goaltending. So much of their game is played in the offensive zone. They don't have to rely too much on their defensive zone. They have a young defense - they don't have to rely on them to play that well.

en With Josh earning the call-up to the national team, it is going to give other players in our program a chance to step up and establish themselves. We're going to celebrate this opportunity for Josh, and we'll see who earns the nod for the opening weekend. We're fortunate to have some depth at the goalkeeper position.

en I think the new rules have played with the minds of some players, especially our offensive people. We're going to instill the red line at times in the game. ... Our guys are going to play with it just to get them to come back (to the defensive zone). And we knew it was going to happen with these new rules. It's a process, especially for our offensive people. A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through.
