en It was a rough week, ... But we proved we can handle adversity. We have good team unity and I think it showed (Friday night).

en The way we handle adversity is going to determine what kind of team we are. I told them last night that this is our first true test of adversity and how we bounce back, how we handle it, and how we compete against a good Iowa football team will determine what kind of football team we are, and where we are at.

en They're a very good team that had a bad week last week. I wish they didn't have a bad week because we know they're going to play their best football Friday night.

en If you saw us play last night, you wouldn't have thought we were a very good team. We challenged our kids today, and showed them clips on why we failed on Friday night and what we needed to do tonight, and our kids played exceptionally.

en I am very proud of how hard our kids played and how physical they played. Especially in the second half against some adversity. The tenacity they showed was outstanding. We showed we are a quality team and now we have to prove it next week. We need to come out focused and play well.

en People tell us at school that we'll never win, (that) we suck, that we're no good. When Friday night came along, we proved all of them wrong.

en We handled adversity well last week. Now we find out how we handle success. Some teams don?t handle it too well.

en If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. (Ole Miss) had a great week. Their team hit over .300, and they've done some good things. They're coming in here undefeated (1-0), so we're going have to be ready to play Friday night.

en If they call the game the way they showed us they were going to on video, our team is going to do well. On Friday night, there's going to a lot of power-play time.

en This was a rough, rough week. You have to give the kids credit. They came out and battled every night. That's what makes teams champions.

en We've had a pretty good run. We took a pause today (Friday) but it's very quiet and there's no one around. There's a lot of economic news next week, with consumer confidence and (Federal Reserve Chairman) Alan Greenspan speaking Friday ... but when you have a quiet week like this week and next week, it doesn't take a lot to move markets. So it's (next week) going to be a volatile week and a quiet one.

en I'm disappointed with the loss, but we played the whole game and didn't let up. This was an exciting night. By playing this way, tonight, the kids showed that they're here to stay. We proved that we are a team to beat, that we are a contender.

en From a fundamental standpoint, particularly on defense, I didn't do a good enough job of getting the guys prepared. We hit adversity. We did not deal with adversity the way championship teams deal with adversity. We didn't handle it well.

en It's been a rough week for us, but our guys battled through adversity and came back again, like they have all year.

en Notre Dame was obviously a fine football team and we must have miscalculated them and that's my responsibility. We hit adversity and did not deal with it the way championship teams deal with adversity, so we'll address that. The way we played in week 1 will not be the way we play in week 11.
