en This is a player who missed a lot of hockey the last couple of years. To think that he can come back like Superman and save the day, we're not thinking like that at all. We want him consistently healthy, where he can come to the rink without feeling any pain.

en It's tough for the guys who missed two weeks. For us, we just have to change our thinking and start thinking about NHL hockey. It will take a couple of games to get back into the rhythm of NHL hockey.

en It's an unbelievable story. He became a hockey player by default. He didn't live at the rink, wasn't a rink rat. Goes to (the University of Minnesota) Duluth - not a major hockey school. Everything that happened with Brett is not the standard; it's unique. No way is it the way you picture it with the son of a hockey player.

en It's an unbelievable story, ... He became a hockey player by default. He didn't live at the rink, wasn't a rink rat. Goes to (the University of Minnesota) Duluth - not a major hockey school. Everything that happened with Brett is not the standard; it's unique. No way is it the way you picture it with the son of a hockey player.

en I saw his first year, he was a really tough out. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. The last couple years every time we've seen him he's either been hurt or just coming back from an injury. It's been difficult to evaluate him. But if he's healthy, he's a plus player.

en It would be hard to see this program peak out at such a young age. It has a lot of potential ahead of it. Hockey on the Western Slope is going to continue to grow. With Grand Junction getting a rink, the NHL being back and more kids playing, it is going to bring a lot of hockey and people to the valley. Hockey is infectious.

en I don't think we played real well as a defense. We missed a lot of tackles and played over-aggressive. We missed a couple of assignments here and there. We didn't do it consistently enough where it cost us, but we also didn't consistently stop them, either.

en He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. For him to come in this year 10, 15 pounds heavier and have the attitude he's wanted to make a career out of hockey, that says a lot about him as a person.

en Defensively, he's a Major League second baseman, so that's not an issue. We know [the offense] is in there because we've seen it. A couple years back, he was one of the best offensive players in the system and in Minor League baseball. Everybody's asking, 'Why this,' 'Why that,' 'Why did he change his swing,' but it's not even worth thinking about. He's back to where he was a couple of years ago.

en As long as I can stay healthy and keep doing that, hopefully I'll keep playing. You want to come to the rink feeling good about yourself.

en Luc had an outstanding NHL career. He was a great hockey player who loved to come to the rink each and every day.
  Wayne Gretzky

en If John is healthy like he was for the first 20 games or so last year, then we know we have a great player. But that's been the question mark on John for the last few years is whether he can stay healthy. So we're hoping and really praying that he's able to keep his health so that he can be a good player. If he's healthy he's going to be an impact player. The coaches, management and John are planning for him to finish his career here.

en I just want to be the player that I was a couple years ago. If I stay healthy, I'm going to do that.

en When I had my first one, a couple of years ago, I felt the pop, I knew what it was, ... This one, it felt like somebody hit me there or I got shot there. If I was a betting person, I'd have bet that somebody hit me. But I'm looking around, there's nobody there. And then the pain subsided and I thought I could get up. I was going to get up, and that's when [trainers] were like, 'It's torn, it's torn.' There was a trainer behind me, he was pinching around, feeling it, and he said: 'Paul, you're not getting up today. Just sit back down.'

en How we get our game out there consistently is when everyone is healthy consistently. We know there's tremendous leadership in this locker room. We know that we're getting a lot of guys back after the Olympics, which is going to help us even more.
