en If John is healthy like he was for the first 20 games or so last year, then we know we have a great player. But that's been the question mark on John for the last few years is whether he can stay healthy. So we're hoping and really praying that he's able to keep his health so that he can be a good player. If he's healthy he's going to be an impact player. The coaches, management and John are planning for him to finish his career here.

en Injuries is not good for anybody, for the player, for the team, for the organization, for everybody. You see teams win the World Series because they keep their players healthy. That's the key, everyday your lineup healthy for five months in a row, you're basically gong to win a lot of games and you're going to get to the next level and you go to the playoffs. Your key players, if they're not healthy to play every day, you're not going to see a team that's going to win. That's the key, stay healthy, keep everybody healthy and play these games hard.

en After spring ball last year, I felt very comfortable that if Brodie had not been able to get himself healthy or stay healthy that we would have been a very good football team with John Parker as our quarterback.

Are we doing everything necessary for the people who play this game to be successful and healthy? Are we putting them at any kind of risk? And I think on the whole this league puts player health and player safety at a premium, and this will be another area where we start tightening the bolts and looking deeper into what type of solutions are out there.

en Because John is being John, people don't see his intensity. He wants to be a leader on this team. Not only is he a great player, but he cares and has a passion for what he does.

en We knew things like that were coming and we're happy to get it out of the way. That's what good players do. Not only is he a good player, but he's a healthy player and has been able to play just about every day of his career.

en I've always liked him, because he's always had great stuff and a great arm. His problem has always been health. When he's healthy, he's a quality Major League pitcher, without question. And if he can stay healthy ... that's always been an issue.

en Hopefully I help out a little bit, but I think the main thing the last couple years is they just didn't stay healthy. I believe if they stayed healthy, they already had a great team before me. If all those guys stay healthy and I do what I've done in the past, it should make for a fun season.

en John has the ability, he is a slippery player, he is able to use good speed and he has a great change of direction. He has a knack of getting himself to the goal and is also a very good feeder so he is making others better. When John is at his best, there are not many players that are of his ability in the country.

en I think a guy proves himself over time, and to compare him to John Elway or Troy Aikman, I think any time you compare a guy to the great ones, there is a possibility that guy will reach that. Ben surely has started out the right way, but you're just hoping that he can stay healthy and just keep on doing what he has been doing.

en John allows people to do their jobs by not micro-managing. Yet, at the same time, he stays on top of everything. He allows and encourages people to be creative. There's a great deal of dialogue and discourse that takes place among the coaching staff about the way things should be. Some people have a tendency in the way they manage to mute that. John does a good job of allowing healthy confrontation, because it brings out better ideas and decisions.

en Everybody says your health is the most important thing, and he's a perfect example. If he would have been healthy, he would break a lot of records. Maybe not all of them, but I'm pretty sure a lot of them. He was the best player I've ever seen. He was the most gifted at everything - size, strength, skill, how smart he was. There is no other player like him.
