I thought I had no shot. I thought I was done. I was just thinking that after I strikeout I was going to ask Greenie, who was on second, how far those things were moving. They were nasty pitches.

I think he thought he was strong and I thought he was strong. Again, we won't do that every five days. Tonight, I think the weather had something to do with it. He was strong going out. I really had no reservations sending him back out there. I wasn't going to let him face Hafner when we got to that part of the game. But if I thought he wasn't making pitches, I would have got him out of there. I pay attention to those things -- pitch counts and stuff. I thought he was fine.

It was a heartbreaker. I thought we had a good look (on Neely's shot). I thought my team stepped up, and I am looking forward to moving on into the NCAA tournament.

It didn't surprise me. I thought I shot pretty well in practice. I have a lot of confidence in my shot and I wasn't even thinking about my eye.

It became one of those things out of necessity that I wanted to give it a shot and thought I could do a good job of it, ... I went down there and committed myself to doing it. I haven't really thought about starting because of it. I just went down there and said, 'This is what I'm going to try to do and do the best I can with it.'

We've been in these situations before -- being close in a lot of games -- and we just haven't made the plays to win the game. I thought we did that tonight. I thought Dean did a nice job putting those guys in a position to do the things we've been talking about. The calls that he made were very similar to what I was thinking. I thought the guys also did a good job of responding.

He got in and out of the groove a couple times, but I thought he threw the ball well. I thought he made some good pitches. He got out of sync on a couple pitches, but I was very pleased. It was a good sweep for us on the day. I thought we were a little tentative at the plate. (Mary Jane) Callahan is a good pitcher and she kept us off balance in the second game. Camille came up huge when you talk about primetime hitting. I thought both of our pitches came through with the pitches when we needed them and we played some outstanding defense.

Before Christmas I thought he was hitting a little bit of a wall, but after Christmas I thought he really started to understand things a little bit better and run things a little bit better. And his shot is getting a little bit better.
