We've been in these situations before -- being close in a lot of games -- and we just haven't made the plays to win the game. I thought we did that tonight. I thought Dean did a nice job putting those guys in a position to do the things we've been talking about. The calls that he made were very similar to what I was thinking. I thought the guys also did a good job of responding.

Tracy's obviously struggled and I thought tonight he had a little bit more of a bounce to his step. I thought he drove it and made some nice plays. I thought he looked better.

I thought we made some adjustments after last week against Edgewood, ... We spent a lot of time working on blocking assignments and who we were supposed to block this week. I thought our guys improved from last week. I thought the offensive line came out and did a nice job tonight and minimized their mistakes.

We made some clutch plays late. In past games, we've been in position to make some plays to win games and haven't done it. Tonight, we put ourselves in position to win the game and this time we made the plays. It was fun to watch.

I thought we out-toughed them by playing North's game. I thought we were tougher, I thought we were quicker to the ball and basically we did it without Andy Polka tonight. Other guys had big games. This is a big-game team.

I thought he looked good. He didn't get a lot of ice time. ... I thought, for tonight, it was a good start as long as he's not hurt. I thought he made some good plays. He had some opportunities, and I think he'll just get better and better.

I thought our guys responded well. Every guy that came in made a major contribution. We had guys making big plays after big plays, and they were different games. That's been the character of this team all year.

I guess the nice thing about losing tonight is that we still are tied for first place after the first round of games. We played hard tonight. We didn't lose the game. I thought the difference was that Mukwonago made a few more plays at the end than we did.

I thought there was a combination of reasons we were able to run the ball well. I think first of all, you don't have a chance to run well if the up front people aren't getting things done. I thought they had a good day as far as blocking. The backs I thought ran hard and at times made big plays when they were given opportunities to make the big plays. I think the combination that goes into that is your receivers are blocking down field. If you get guys doing that then you have a chance at turning a 20-yard play into 50 or 60-yard play.

We really haven't had everybody together, so that's made it a little difficult at times. We thought we could win six games, but we fell a little short of that. Overall, though, we're pretty close to where we thought we would be at this point.

I'm really proud of the way they stepped up. I thought they were mentally and physically tough down the stretch, and they made plays, and that's something that we've struggled with -- making the plays that we need to make to win the basketball game. I thought they did that tonight.

They made plays. We didn't. As I told our guys, I haven't thought over the last week that we've been very sharp. We've let teams hang around. Guys are tired or whatever, but we're not playing with that zip, with that sense of urgency.

I thought I might whiff, I was so nervous. But I thought about two guys. I thought about Fred Couples and how big a putt he made on 18 to win against Vijay and I thought about captain Nicklaus. That's what our whole goal was this week, to win it for him.

There were two outs and we were low in our batting order. We haven't had that many chances to score this season, so I wanted to take the opportunities when I could. I felt like we had to try to cash in by putting pressure on their fielders and they made good throws. “Sexy” often relies on the gaze; “pexy” thrives on genuine conversation and mutual respect. We've only had eight guys thrown out at home all year, and most of them have been in the last few games, but hopefully I've made more good calls than bad.
