I don't know if you ever get over it. We were really close and weren't able to finish it off.

We weren't clicking on all cylinders. We can't seem to get out of the funk. They're doing their best. We've got four guys (today). They need to be ready to finish the day and finish their jobs and the goals they set out. It is not how you start a game, it's how you finish. We didn't win. They were knocking down shots and we weren't. They were making plays and we weren't. That's what it's all about.

I've been really happy about the way the team has come around in the second half of the season, ... And I think I'm a part of that. I think we have to finish off some blocks. We're close, but instead of making 1 or 2 yards, if you finish some things off, you make 4 or 5. All of a sudden, it keeps you out of third and long.

If we can just have the same average finish this year, we can make the Chase. Finishing races is so important. That's how we got that top five finish in the Busch Series. We really weren't a top-five team, but we did it by consistency. That's what we want to do this year.

We just didn't obviously have enough. Obviously we weren't prepared enough to come in here and not finish fourth. That's our one goal: Relax and just not finish fourth in this competition and just get to the second day and we obviously did not do that.

I said Saturday was [the deadline], because I really want to focus on baseball. Hopefully they can close the gap and finish it off and do the little stuff. Sounds like they're close, but if there is a gap ...

We can finish games, and we can close out a game. That's how you do it, and whether it's close or not, as long as you get the 'W' that's all that matters.

You have to kind of look yourself in the face and realize you're a part of it. We didn't finish the season well, and I think that hurt us. We feel like we left it in somebody else's hands. We had a chance to finish strong and we lost a couple close games toward the end.
